Looking into Skeeter bass boat. Most likely 19 ft. Anyone have one or know someone with one? Anything bad about them?

I have ridden in a ZX225 several times back during my tournament days. Very nice boat. I liked my Champion better though.

Nothing wrong with a skeeter bass boat. They make a nice solid platform.

. No. It is actually for sale right now, but I am not sure he really wants to get rid of it.

Skeeter was the first "bass boat" and started the design of loww to the water stable casting platform boats.
The newer models are built heavy, similar to the Rangers and thus can take a pounding with out the driver feeling it as bad. There is an annual Skeeter owners tournament here at Lake Fork that is a real blast.

False, they arent called kidney crushers for nothing. Great fishing platform and I like them, but dont buy one for the ride. They hop/bounce around turns and arent near as good of a ride as phoenix, basscat, champion, etc... but will fish with the best of them as far as fishing platforms go.
ETA: the new FX series is suppose to fix some of the things lacking in the ride of the other models, but I havent rode in them so I dont know. I do know you better bring 50k if you want a new FX.

They were the number 1 selling boat in Louisiana a few yrs ago and yamaha has seemed to do well with them since they bought them out. They sell well here because they draft high and can get in skinny water well, but thats also why they ride rough without a good V down the boat. Just depends on what you want.
