I'm with you. We were clipping across Caney Saturday at 55-60 in my buddy's Triton and that was plenty fast for me.

Am I the only one who thinks y'all are batshit crazy for doing 80mph in a boat?

No I agree with you...I don't like 80 especially if you start a little chine walking...

Stable fishing platform and rough water ride is more important than top speed to me.

False, they arent called kidney crushers for nothing. Great fishing platform and I like them, but dont buy one for the ride. They hop/bounce around turns and arent near as good of a ride as phoenix, basscat, champion, etc

Go compare the weight of the models. Skeeter boats (the top three bass boat series) are all heavier or equally as heavy as Ranger, Phoenix, Basscat, Champion. Sometimes the difference is as large as 400 lb.

Don't go off of what others have told you go sit in one an do a little research.

Powpow has a 1982 skeeter.

I have Grandaddy's Skeeter. 72 K4Metro with original 1971 Chrysler 70 HP, and original motorguide trolling motor.

Got to love an old stick steering boat.

Rode with a guide on Fork once and he was turning off of the main boat lanes and entering coves with all those trees while doing 70-80 and chine walking that thing.

Dad tells him as soon as the engine is off and trolling motor is in the water, "I know my son bought this trip for us, but if you do that shite again, one of the two of us will be wading to shore"

Love the ol'man
