What can you tell me about this band?
Unfortunately they broke up a few years back. The bassist and the guitarist are brothers from Baltimore, Maryland. I think the bass player is focused on his family life now while the guitarist continues to promote his solo project called "Darsombra". Here is a live performance.( Darsombra - Nymphaea ) He builds the song layer by layer using loop pedals, starting out with a bass guitar before switching to guitar.

Red Fang- Blood like Cream Released on 11/07/2013
Didn't realize Red Fang had some new tunes out. Love love love love Red Fang. Most people on this board(who post in here) like this band.

Whales and Leeches is sure to propell Red Fang to the forefront of the modern Rock 'n' Roll scene, and rightfully so. Turn up your speakers, slam a beer and bang your head. Red Fang is here to stay.

I can't get into Red Fang. I saw them once and was bored the whole time.

I missed their HOB show this past year.
I miss a lot of shows.
I enjoyed their first two albums... this one is taking some time to grow on me so far. The other two I enjoyed right off.

New Red Fang music video
quote:
The video for "Blood Like Cream," off Red Fang's third LP, Whales and Leeches, begins with Portlandia's Fred Armisen running into the band's local bar and frantically explaining that zombies are on the attack. The band themselves seem unconcerned until they learn that the zombies aren’t the kind that want to eat brains. It's worse: they're the kind that want to drink all the beer.

Not everyone will dig this one because it's more along the lines of Death/Doom metal and the production is muddy and raw, but it's some of the most crushing doom I've ever listened to.
diSEMBOWELMENT - Transcendence Into The Peripheral
(This is the YouTube search for the album, on mobile so it keeps sending me to the app when I click on the video)

That Clutch album was not that bad.
I also dug Bloody Hammers.
Have not given this much thought but Like Clockwork is my album of the year.
Sort of falls into the genre albeit weakly. More of some blues rock I understand.
Will throw some considerations our later

So this thread is 8 pages long and no one has mentioned the band Thou? They're from Baton Rouge and certainly one of the more prominent bands in the sludge metal scene. They have been called stoner metal before but I would say they are more doom/sludge. They're one of my favorite bands regardless of the fact that they are local and I try to see them whenever they play.

I think Thou is pretty much broken up now due to its members living all over the country. I saw them a few times and liked them.

They have a new release scheduled for early next year so I imagine they will be playing some shows but just not often. I've heard a leaked recording from next years release and they also played it at the last show I went to earlier this fall. It will be heavy.

Oh, and a NWOBHM band from the early 80's pretty much took early Sabbath and created the whole modern Metal/Sludge/Post-metal movement:
Witchfinder General
I recommend them.
