Dwight Howard: Magic teams were "full of people who nobody wanted"

No one he screwed over has said anything publicly, yet he feels the need to keep rehashing this. Seems like a little girl trying to convince himself he's happier now than he was before Kobe made him put on a gimp suit.

Like an abusive ex-husband on The Maury Povich Show, Dwight Howard can’t seem to get enough cheap shots in at his former love, the Orlando Magic and this community. In a recent television interview, Howard lamented the Magic teams he played on were “full of people who nobody wanted. “
Um, right. That would be the same group of nobodies who helped Howard and the Magic advance to the NBA Finals in 2009, the Eastern Conference Finals in 2010, and a first-round appearance in 2011. Yep, a bunch of scrubs.
Howard, now into his second phase of trying to screw up team chemistry, this time with the Los Angeles Lakers, also had the gall to say that he “was the leader and I led that team with a smile on my face.”
Howard didn’t lead the team in anything but insubordination, unless you want to include his leadership style in trying to get his coach fired during his team-wrecking Season of Indecision in 2011.
Once again, Howard never has been, and probably never will be a leader. He is a great player consumed with public perception. He wants everybody to love him and adore him, even when he acts like a petulant jerk. All you have to do is ask Kobe Bryant about his "leadership" style.
Howard will be back here with the Lakers Tuesday night at the Amway Center. I am sure he will get a warm reception from guys he stabbed in the back, like his former BFF Jameer Nelson.
Feel free to get your own cheap shots in Magic fans. Screaming and jeering and booing will be worth the price of admission.

Dwight Howard is a bitch. That's really all there is to say about that.
And what he said isn't even true, Hedo got PAID when he left Orlando. Of course Hedo hasn't lived up to the expectations, but he was still a solid player when he was with Orlando.

he comes off like a bitch but in fairness to him I'm sure he's got reporters asking him this kind of question 24/7... and when he finally answers it then it goes around the internet and sportsworld within 6 hours

This seems like a quote that was taken out of context.
Just watched the whole interview...he did say this, but I think he was just saying it was full of guys who were under the radar type. Just my opinion...and I hate Dwight.

The article was taken from the Orlando Sentinel, and yet, it does not change the fact that D Howard is a bitch.

i have long been a DH supporter/apologist but its dam near impossible at this point
i keep hoping he'll shut his mouth, sign a max deal somewhere, and use on this bad pub as fuel to his fire, but i wonder if he peaked 4 years ago. sad really, he should end his career with a couple rings, but looks hell bent on making sure it doesnt happen

As a Magic fan for almost 10 years now: frick Dwight Howard, I used to think he was such a good dude too early in his career, but what a POS he has turned out to be, maybe if Dwight was 1/10th the leader he thinks he is, they might've won the Finals one year

Um....he is kind of right. Otis Smith took on huge contracts that NO OTHER team would touch.

Rashard was playing great, but man he had a HEAVY price tag.
Hedo was great for the team, but he got overpaid when he went to Toronto, and then Otis Smith signs him back.
I've always been a fan of Jameer, but he got hurt and was inconsistent when he recovered from his injury.
Look, Dwight may be immature, but Otis Smith did much more damage to the team than Dwight did.

Can't say I disagree with anything you posted, and I definitely didn't like Otis Smith, but Dwight had above average talent around him, maybe not a "loaded" lineup, but certainly not "nobodies"

never thought I would hate a player more than LeBron, but Dwight has achieved it. LeBron has at least grown up some.
