I know.
Someone must be the sacrificial hater.
Friends was a great show, and I hope it doesn't become a generational thing, because I am of the same generation as the characters. All the reruns are still funny to this day, and now with the added bonus of sentimentality that I think younger kids will not have.

I felt like this was sort of a driveby hate:

Never seen it, but the final episode is the best.

That was such a weak burn i didnt even notice it.
I just hate the people that think in order to like Friends, you have to hate Seinfield, or vice versa

I screwed up the name of the best episode in like the 2nd or third post in this thread.
I watched Friends regularly (but not religiously) in its initial run. And watched reruns while it's initial run was still going, so I'm familiar with a lot of the episodes. I don't hate the show, I just don't prefer it any more and it feels a bit dated when I watch it now.
I also don't understand any criticism of Friends in regards to Seinfeld. They were both gigantic hits that were on TV in the same programming block for quite a while. The crossover audience is likely very high. So I don't really undestand why anyone would say that if you like one, you can't like the other.
FWIW, Seinfeld feels dated to me also.
Cheers does not, I love Cheers in reruns. My personal opinion only though, as I think all were quality shows.

Seems like anytime friends is brought up someone just goes "HEY THEY STOLE STORYLINES FROM SEINFIELD!!! " and try to make it like team Friends vs team Seinfield
An both shows are very dated but still really enjoyable

I would stop discussing sitcoms with these people. They obviously do not understand the format. Plots are recycled all the time by every show.
By season 4 or 5, every show is going back to the season one well but just changing the pairings. It's inevitable that other shows are going to have similar plots. From there it's all about execution and how likeable the characters are.

Final episode was by far not the best.

The one where Ross is Fine is on right now, this is a pretty good one
Between Ross freaking out about Rachel and Joey getting together and then Chandler telling the kid that hes adopted

I think the trivia episode is clearly the best, but my second favorite is the Thanksgiving episode where the play football. There are so many classic moments in that episode.
"Losers walk"
"No, losers talk"
"No, actually, losers rhyme"

Ross wearing the Hanukkah Armadillo costume...
"Who are you supposed to be?"
"I'm the HANUKKAH ARMADILLO!"

The One With The Screamer.
Ben Stiller is the guest star who goes nuts on everyone. For some reason, he always makes me laugh uncontrollably in that episode.
