Yes, I would have. Likely to see just as good a pitch 3-1 as 3-0.

As far as making it go through, could have easily had contact play on.

You dont let the best hitter in college baseball try and make something happen?

A pitcher will most often throw a pitch right down the middle on a 3-0 count figuring the batter is taking. It really is the best count for the green light if you have the right batter. And Rhymes is the right batter.
