First of all, this is baseball. It isn't like football where you expect to thump WEstern bumfrick Idaho. In baseball, the game allows for more parity.
Secondly, the beginnig of the season are always a time to shake off rust and have the younger players learn discipline at the plate. And in a cold weather game like this, the bats almost always go dead.
If SEC play started now, I'd be very worried. However, we've got time to tinker with the order and shake off the rust. Overall, you gotta know that Rhymes, Moore, Katz, Sciambra, and Ross have all proven they can hit SEC pitching.

Thanks mustache you answered my question . I've followed LSU baseball since the 80's but I dont feel that I am that knowledgable about baseball .

What I saw was this.
1. Alex Bregman is quickly becoming our best player. Even his outs are crushed
2. Starting pitching is a strength
3. We still have a massive void in the clutch hitting area. Jacoby looks like a stud when he leads off an inning but swings at dirt balls with RISP. Ty Ross hasn't been any better. With that many people getti g on though, eventually the laws of average will work in our favor.
4. Bullpen has a lot of "potential"

In baseball...
Start of season= Pitching > Hitting
Start of season= Pitching > Hitting

So the 3 or so games we have won coming from behind in the 8th/9th inning including Bregman's 2 out single to bring in the tying run last night isn't clutch?

1. Weather needs to warm up.
2. Bullpen is a mild concern
3. Defense looks solid
4. Better at bats with RISP

Means we still had 10 hits, scored 4 runs and walked off in the 9th. We struck out 15 batter's for crying out loud compared to our 3 strike outs. We've also stuck out 77 batters as a team and have only stuck out 33 times as a team. Tyler Moore still haven't struck out once yet. I can do this all day because this team is amazing real talk

lol this is baseball. its not like football where you can overpower someone physically even though your having a bad day. thats why baseball is such a great sport, a decent team can beat the best.

Other than one game, last night, this is a factually incorrect statement.

It means I'm giving up my season tickets today for all eternity. I'm going to buy them every year, but unless we're hosting a Super Regional and we won the first game of the regional by at least 17 runs, I'm not going.

HCB, what game can we expect Enrique to perform Tyler's walk out?
