At work
But
I do want to run that lvl 16 dungeon sometime. Cloak tower I think it's called
I have volleyball tonight though so im out.
Skirmishes sound fun too. There's so much to do when you click "l". I love a task based mmo

I'll download this evening and attempt to get on around 7:30 or so. I need to make a new account though since my current pw account includes a portion of my name and I don't want any creepsters stalking me. I also need to uninstall about 8 games so I can clear some space up

DL'd lastnight but wasn't able to create an account. Did it this morning, so should get on and start playing this evening.

Just did the cloak tower, they have some serious enemies in there. You have to have a full party to take it down

Guardian Fighter that I just created this afternoon. I just finished the tutorial but will hopefully be doing some steady leveling tonight and tomorrow.

Nice.
Prob gonna delete my tank and make a cleric.
Easy to level a cleric at the moment with 1000 rogues and GWFs everywhere

This is the only information I could find as far as an extended list of classes that will eventually be available. Does anyone know where this comes from, other than straight from 4th edition Player's Handbooks?
I know that the Ranger has been confirmed, but not for launch. If I have to wait for an expansion to roll a Bard, I'll be disappointed.

Should I check out this game?
ETA: I saw some info on this game.. is it harkening back to EQ or XI type "hard" MMO days?

is the combat actually fast .. more action-like, or is it more methodical?

hmm.. good question.
Ive got a pretty good rhythym on my Great weapon fighter. Uses a 2 handed sword.
Ill do A leap into a pack of 4 or 5
Pop my attack speed buff
Do a aoe cleave
AOE snare
then hold down left mouse to unleash my auto attack to finish everyone until cooldowns come up
Sprint around in order to avoid enemy mobs special attacks.
each class gets a badass "daily" skill to use once their "action points" bar fills. Basically a badass skill on a large cooldown. 10 minutes or so based on your activity
yeah, the combat is a bit faster than gw2 now that i consider it.

I agree with the Guild Wars 2 sentiment regarding the combat. This game is very action-oriented and reflexes/positional awareness are rewarded with higher survivability.
The system of gaining experience is on the other end of the spectrum from Guild Wars, though. You are heavily directed, which is to be expected from a game that has so many different stories to share with you.
Whereas in Guild Wars 2 the lore is emergent from the activity of exploring the landscapes available to you and speaking with otherwise non-essential NPCs, Neverwinter blankets you in lore from the beginning and you need only follow the plot railroad to experience most of what the Forgotten Realms has to offer.
That is my experience so far.

i do find the combat strangely fulfilling and satisfying
the story so far has been mostly "follow this path, go to this place, kill this main bad dude, bring back what he was guarding"
And i'm fine with that. Linear for sure.
Indeed, positional awareness and reflexes are rewarded in that you dont have to pop potions as often, which are somewhat expensive.
So, the better you are, the more money you have. A direct relationship in player skill and wealth, which i can appreciate.

Does remind me of GW2 combat some. You pretty much hit the nail on the head because that game didn't hold me either.
