This is another game changer.

There are quite a few turkeys in our neck of the woods.

I'm not saying there are no turkeys, but the piney woods of central LA is easily the best area for turkey hunting in the state.

But, like I have said numerous times, I don't hunt in NELA.

I dont know and maybe im partial but SWLA is pretty stout. The duck hunting is unreal. The saltwater fishing is unreal with Big Lake. You have Lacassine Reserve for Bass Fishing. Deer not so much but still not horrible. If you are an outdoorsman its pretty tough to beat IMO

You ever killed anything bigger than an 8pt in SWLA? Trophy deer hunting is universally the most important to southern hunters. And if its ducks, mallards are universally the trophy bird... Again, NELA

Just did some research and the only way to settle this is by squatch activity and CENLA wins hands down.

We are middle of the road for hunting. Not the best of deer or duck without question. Fishing, while good, without toledo we dont compare. I love the small reseviors we have, but they dont compare what south la has to offer or toledo. Now if we get toledo, Ill put it up against anyone.

Yes. I think we have some great spots, but not as many as NELA

you guys have obviously never been in the river parishes of NELA during the winter. All they have in SWLA is smiling jacks and teal.

I've never hunted SWLA but from people I know it's a hell of a lot more than ringnecks and teal.

Best way I can describe it is NELA is a little more spotty. SWLA kills limits 60 days of the year.

I mean im not going to deny that Avoyelles Parish isnt one of the best parishes for the outdoorsman, but you cant deny that the Northeastern part section of the stated doesnt harbor the largest herd of trophy deer and massive deer (body size). Also, the duck hunting gets good, earlier, and stays good longer. Its the Mississippi flyway, for crying out loud

Two of the parishes in Salmons map probably has killed more record book deer than any other place in the state. I'm not even getting into duck hunting.
