B+ only because of the 0-4 start

I hate to play Devil's Advocate here, but I think we should all temper our expectations for next season.
Will we be improved? Hell Yes.
Will we instantly vault into the top 4 of the SEC? Maybe/Probably.
Will we make a run to the final four with not a single player on the roster having one second of NCAAT experience? Hell No.
But whatever we do, it should be fun as hell to watch.

What does this even mean? Are you trying to say we don't guard every perimeter player tight when he's outside the arc?...because if that's a con to you then I question your basketball knowledge. If they can't shoot the 3 don't guard them for the 3.

I kinda agree that we don't close out well enough on the perimeter but LSU has been lucky that not many people have made a lot of three pointers on them. Would like to see better close outs on three point shooters moving forward.

You're an idiot if you even remotely got that from my post. And see my later post in the thread.

member of the rant for 3 years; over 2000 posts. isn't that the way things are around here? or does that just apply in football.

We didn't run ANYBODY off the 3 point line in the Tennessee game.
I know they shot out of their minds, but it was maddening.
On another note, there was about a 5 minute stretch from 7-2min mark in the first half last night that might have been the best passing I have ever seen from an LSU basketball team. We were absolutely dicing them up and getting layups multiple possessions in a row, it was beautiful basketball. (I'm so young i've only seen Brady Ball and TJ, so that's not a bold statement I don't think)

Wish I'd seen the game. I've been waiting for that passing game to take hold. I've seen an emergence, but would love to see it more often and for longer periods.

you guys grading B? or good? are you’ll NUTS? Jones threw this team together scrambling to get whoever he could? And suppose what kid would come to a basketball program reeling? with a coaching change? What Johnny Jones has done is nothing short of a miracle. The number 1 player in the State has signed and LSU is currently ranked in the top 10 in recruiting for next year? Since when in the hell has that happened? LSU basketball is headed in the right direction and that right soon. Thank you Johnny Jones, you should have be given this job much sooner!!!!!

Johnny Jones Pre-Tournament Report Card
Much much better than anticipated.

A+ ... For the first time in a long time, it "feels" like this program is headed in the right direction.
When fans are excited about potentially making the NIT, it tells me two things: we're starved for any success and momentum of the program has shifted in the right direction.
Granted, I think many of us had very low expectations for this season, but nonetheless they have been easily exceeded.
