Yeah - he included some places that are more restaurant or music/entertainment places than bars. Avenue is a mystery for its omission, as is Bar Tonique and dba. Really don't know anyone who goes to Port of Call just to drink, so its inclusion is also odd.

Rusty Nail: it's the unofficial Alabama bar in NOLA, meaning that on Saturdays in the fall, its packed to the gills with mouth-breathing Gumps yelling "Roll Tide!" every time Nick Saban reaches down to adjust his nuts. Still, I find the place endearing.

I consider Capdeville DEFINITELY a restaurant.

How did you miss that Tonique is #1?

the only way we here in modern America know how to judge things is if they're categorized and put into best or worst lists.

His location is Brooklyn and New Orleans. His list is starting to piece itself together

Damn, my bad. When I scrolled through the article, I stopped right before Tonique and didn't pay attention to the numerical rankings posted. Guess my ADD is showing.......

Such is the state of modern journalism.

Well the problem is that pieces of shite like the web site credited in the OP (Complex) as well as countless other "news" sites, blogs, etc. have given journalism a bad name. It's a sin to even label it as such anymore.

Always thought of Saint Marie as more of a restaurant...

Google "Brett Michael Dykes"... I'm ashamed that this guy purports to be from New Orleans

Dude promotes New Orleans and Louisiana all the time. He's great for the city. Sure, I don't always agree with him but he's hilarious and usually writes some nice pieces.

Well when I have driven past it looks dark as hell
