4.55 is really not that bad for a 215 pound rb,
it's not good at all
and he's a speed back. it's a pretty terrible time for a upright, soft, 215-lb speed back who didn't do much in college
remember, ford came out early and doesn't exactly have a career to justify a pick in the draft. he had to shock the world

Agree with SlowFlowpro. And I was expecting him to do better than the 4.5 he ran his 1st attempt. 4.45 is better, but he needed a low 4.4 to help whatever little stock he has rise.
He did great at the bench and I expect his vert to be pretty strong too, but his skills and athleticism doesn't translate on the football field.

You say a ton of stupid stuff like this all the time. He will be drafted.

First I thought all times were accu track?
A pro scout told me they deduct from laser times
They don't add to stop watch times! 4:45 is a great time for a tailback. More so if it was an acu track time!

What round do you think he will get drafted?
I'm thinking round 6-7. He's a decent kick returner, but not sure what other ST he can play.
Wait and see what his official time is. He needs it to be below 4.50. He did have 1 of the top 10 yard splits for a RB with a 1.51.
Also had 25 reps, 38.5 inch vert, and a 10'10 broad jump. Top 6 in both the broad and vert.

Tell that to Stedman Bailey.

Not being negative, but he had a less than stellar career, doesn't do anything particularly well. He needs to separate himself, and that time doesnt drop anyone's jaw.
There are freeagency RBs all over the place that can do what Ford does, cant imagine a draft pick higher than 7th or maybe late 6th.

Late for sure but he will be drafted.

I agree 100% with you Tigerfoot. Not sure what it is about him. I said he was going to have 1 of the best combines out of everybody this weekend, and so far he hasn't disappointed me. But, his skills just don't translate on the football field.

Ford's overall measurables will definitely earn him a chance in the NFL. Whether he's drafted or signed as an UFA doesn't really matter. Teams find good RBs in the mid to late rounds, and sometimes, they find them as UFAs - Arian Foster comes to mind (and no, I'm not saying Ford will be another Foster).
Ford will have to prove his ability to run between the tackles, catch out of the backfield and block on the blitz. His kick return abilities will serve him well. If he doesn't make a roster, he might be a guy a team will put on its practice squad to see how he develops.

Not necessarily. Goodman's official 40 was .03 seconds slower while Swope's official 40 was .04 seconds faster.
ETA: his official time is 4.5, 5th fastest for RBs.

Ford making it or not in the NFL will depend on if he can do the things like pass blocking more than anything else. His skills with the ball in his hands are NFL quality. It is the plays that he doesn't get the ball that will make or break him in the NFL.

Special teams and spot player. Don't see enough skill sets to be impact player but solid roster player.

I'm not sure if he will even be able to get a NFL playbook down. He had troubles with LSU, and ours has been pretty simple the past few years.
And I wouldn't say he is NFL quality with the ball in his hands. He has NFL type talent, no doubt. He's doing fantastic at the combine. But when he gets it he finds the sideline every time. He's not a guy that can go between the tackles and stay in the hole. He always is looking for that sideline. And his pass blocking is below average.
Hes a decent kick returner, but can he play on kickoff? Punt returner? Punt team? Teams won't draft a guy just to be a kick returner.
