Garnett said during All-Star weekend that he would not waive his no-trade clause, and held true to his vow despite added pressure from Clippers guard Chris Paul. According to a league source, Paul called Garnett and said that if he was open to joining the Clippers, then Paul would make it happen. Garnett, though, declined, expressing a desire to remain a Celtic.

If the Celtics can grab the 6 seed, they'll be in the perfect spot.

That'll allow them to beat New York in the 1st Round.

Then, they'll probably lose to Indiana in the semis, but at least they will have advanced one round.

Celtics are going to make a run late. I'd feel much better with Rondo.

That equals telling Paul to F off? Ok.

I'm glad Garnett declined. That would have been a disastrous trade for the Clippers.

lol

The same Knicks who shoot a ton of jump shots? I'm not going to pretend Boston doesn't shoot a lot of jump shots, too. But come on.

New York isn't built for the playoffs, even with Chandler giving them some stability down low. Of course, they can beat Boston. It should be a good series. However, to say there is no way Boston can win is a joke. Every year, they shock people and make a deeper run than people expected. They've looked fine in the half-court without Rondo. Sure, they're going to have to rely a lot on Paul Pierce for scoring and for pick-and-roll play with Garnett, but it's not like those two are chopped liver or anything.

I expect Boston to continue struggling on this west-coast road trip they're on, but they'll make a little run late in the season.

To be honest, grabbing the 5 seed is actually the best position for Boston. They actually have a better shot at beating Miami than they do of beating Indiana in the 2nd round (both are very slim chances). Indiana's size would be way too much for Boston to handle. Miami at least likes to play small, allowing Boston to match-up a little bit better.

Indiana was the 2nd best team in the East last year, Boston just got lucky to draw Philly in the semis.
