He's being released for reason, and it's not just his salary. He's finished.

Michael Turner is a great running back who is thick and powerful and runs downhill and will bowl over a tackler. He also has just enough of a burst to gain those few extra yards when he gets into the open field. He followes his blockers and has great vision. He's primed to be a pro bowler and needs the opportunity to shine as the workhorse running back to display his talent.
