as long is Vasquez is on this roster we will be a sub .500 team FACT
Vasquez is the best point guard in the league with all his triple doubles.

The Monty love on this board is borderline childish. Dude hasn't proven anything in 3 years other than that he likes to run his mouth in the media.

yeah because triple doubles should define how good a point guard is

The claims of Monty love on this site are over the border idiotic. Post a quote of anyone besides tehchampion140 who is committing this borderline childish behavior.

Triple doubles are freak events, double doubles show productivity. Guess which PG has the most double doubles in the league? That's right, GV. One more than CP3
It's simple math GV > CP3 LINK

You missed my sarcasm.

Just look at any thread on this board that dare questions or criticizes Monty and you'll see endless post hugging his nuts and bashing the person who is not a Monty fan.
Techchampion however does take the art of nut-hugging to another level though I agree.

The long answer is it's not a free pass, it's looking beyond the numbers to what is actually happening.
Year 1 - in the end it was what you expected from a CP3/DWest team, a high playoff seed and first round exit. But there were 2 stretches that season where the team looked like legit darkhorse contenders.
Year 2 - Received a 2nd place CoY vote because despite having such a poor record he took a team of mostly bench worthy players and made them much more competitive than they should have been.
Year 3 - The team is rebuilding and developing its young talent. This is what that looks like. What is Monty doing wrong if player development is the goal? Pretty much everyone but Xavier Henry seems to be developing. There are questions revolving around Davis' minutes, but between medical concerns and wanting players to earn their minutes rather than be anointed with them and pick up bad habits, I think it's arguable that he's doing the right thing and Davis shouldn't automatically get big minutes or closing minutes. I'm not saying I necessarily agree with his decisions, just that there are multiple ways to skin a cat and I don't think he's doing it wrong, just differently from what many fans want.
Year 4 - The team should have more talent 1-10 from development this year and offseason pick ups so they can start playing to win rather than playing to develop Monty's BFF's son or worrying about Davis' young bones.
Year 5 - Davis and Anderson should be AllStar level talents with a decent supporting cast and not making the playoffs would be a disappointment.

do you have a coach in mind that could do more with this team than what monty has?

The beginning of that season was lights out NOLA basketball

What did they begin the season with? 11 straight wins? Something like that
Posted on 2/21/13 at 6:05 pm to MrWiseGuy
First 8 games and 11 out of first 12

I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. I think most of the reaction is to posters who slam the guy without context.

And some posters are borderline childish with the Monty hate. You're right, he hasn't proven much. But that goes both ways.
Its pretty idiotic to say that he's a horrible coach because he isn't winning in year 1 of a rebuilding process

Just noticed this. What in the frick are you talking about?

Its not running his mouth to the media, but he's made a few comments making fun of the way some of the superstars act. I remember one making fun of the glasses trend that they were all doing.
IIRC he made another comment about the concussion policy when it kept AD out for a number of games when he could have probably played

Every coach says something every now and then. Besides, none of that is particularly outrageous, imo.
