Well, Brady's deal is a 21.5 million cap hit, so they can't afford to franchise Welker unless Brady restructures. If only Brady were not so selfish.

why would they? he'll go disappear on some other team that over pays for him. And, the Pats are gonna draft another WR late in the draft and just plug him in. They just paid Gronk a ton of money to be hurt, which was a terrible move, IMO.

Patroits will find some other undrafted or less visible player and plug him in.

They have a pretty good track record on personnel decisions.
