johnny's 'sweep the kitchen' or whatever the frick it's called, is quality, but i'm not a pizza snob and enjoy pizza hut a lot. fleur de lis is also pretty good. dont really like mellow mushroom at all

I somewhat agree. Johnny's is not spectacular, but just has a consistent goodness. When I introduce people to it i make sure they know it's not gonna blow their mind, it's just good. It's my favorite. Pizza village is solid. Deano's is crap.

Fox's Pizza and Duffy's Brick Oven Pizza in Leesville are actually pretty good.

It was good pizza, don't get me wrong, but I was expecting something amazing. Doesn't compare to Deano's or Pizza Village
So you had unrealistic expectations and it didn't live up to them. Ok.

Johnny's is all across north la...it is very good, particularly if you like thin crust...
If you believe this, then you have never had good pizza. Sorry!

Ummm... Naples was where pizza was invented. Pizzas that still follow the same strict guidelines used in Naples are called Neopolitan pizzas... unlike the Americanized, commercialized, mass-produced crap the majority of these posters are mentioning.

This and Roma, Johnny's never did it for me but Tommy's in Hammond used to be legit.

I had expectations of it living up to my two favorite pizza places and it fell way short.

For pure nostalgia, I'd say the Italian place that used to be in Cortana Mall. I don't remember the name, but it was near the corridor that led down to Mervyn's.
Mama Brava.
Was legit.
