We let Saban come in to Louisiana and go after every top recruit from the state and they all have Bama offers but we don't do the same? Doesn't make much sense to me. And every national 5 star recruit should have an offer from us as well. They almost always have offers from Bama no matter where they live.
There is a difference between Bama and LSU.

Somehow Alabama will end up number one again, not saying they'll have the best players but you know how their signee's always gain a star once they commit.

Well, it's corresponded with national championships. So, I guess there is some method to their madness.
I think ESPN recognizes how Bama will always have great teams and high NFL draft picks with saban so they give all of Bamas recruits high rankings so they can say they got it right... Regardless of how good they actually think the recruits are, they will end up being better because of the coach/team/program so they will be ranked higher by ESPN.

We'll still have a damn good class

We should make them work as hard to keep their best in state players as they do us and letting them have an uncontested run at 5 stars especially the ones in the southern part of the US is crazy. It's like linebackers with uncontested shots at Tony Romo.
For these national 5 star recruits from other states besides Alabama and Louisiana, we have just as much reason to believe we can get them as they do.

This is so stupid I can't even respond..

If we don't have the top recruiting class next year it will only mean we didn't recruit as well in Louisiana as we were hoping!

Don't think it is necessary & a wise use of time & resources to go into 'Bama after a large # of their top rated players, esp. since LA has so much talent, esp. for this next signing class.
However, will the new NCAA rules at least let some additional staff & recruiting contacts be used for out of state prospects?
I am not certain how much these new rules could effect that. If anyone has an idea, let us know.

Thanks, I accidentally double posted.
But I am really interested in finding out more about the new rules that I believe take effect in August, allowing for additional recruiters & contacts. I have read that it will make the strong programs like LSU, Bama, Ohio St., UCLA, Oregon, Notre Dame, even stronger and really hurt programs like South Florida, Syracuse, Washington St., trying to make it to that next level.

Sounds pretty smart to me. They do the same for LSU recruits, too. Look how guys like Kevin Spears and Tyrann Mathieu jumped after LSU offered.

Yeah they are going to kill it next year. They are raiding the state of GEorgia like Nazis in Poland.

Dude. Stop being such a star-gazer.
Coaches don't look at "stars". They recruit based on their own (professional) evaluations, and they recruit based on need. LSU goes hard after every player they want.

All of our 5s will miraculously become 3's and Alashama's 3's will miracously become 5's one week before 2014 NSD on Rivals.
Meanwhile, 24/7, Scout, and ESPN will each have LSU as #1 by a longshot.
