of course the quote kissing Goodell's arse is from Mr. Blank

I don't care for his decisions with regards to the Saints, but let's face it- the man runs an industry that is worth nearly half a trillion dollars. Hell, just the value of the 32 franchises alone is approximately $30 billion, before considering marketing deals, advertisement, stadium rights, etc.
Compare Goodell's salary to the CEO of Wal-Mart, Amazon, Facebook, Google, etc. I'm sure he's compensated in line with those cash cow institutions. He's the captain of a very expensive ship right now. Doesn't mean he's not a piece of shite, though.

Walmart CEO makes 18 mil a year...and Walmarts revenue far outweighs the NFL.

Dude is an arse, but if you want him to make less money, stop watching the games
Otherwise, 30 million (nearly 75% of which was a bonus that the owners signed off on), is not unreasonable considering the combined worth of all NFL teams and the revenue the league is raking in.
I'd like to see the faces of some people that brought in that much $$$ for their company then only got a small six figure salary for it.

You can't really compare goodell to the CEO of a large company. Goodell could relax on his couch 24/7 for the next 10 years and the NFL would still rake in the dough.

Isn't it so that Goodell's job approval rating is not particularly high with people in the NFL and with those who earn a living broadcasting about the NFL?
Goodell is the worst Commish that the NFL has ever had, and I mean that sincerely.

Wal-Mart's CEO's 5 year contract is worth just over 50 million and they employ the most people in the world
Amazon, Facebook, and Google are run by the people who started them

Is there any chance Goodell could be out soon? He has pissed off at least 3 owners in the last year that I know of (Saints, Cowboys, Redskins) and maybe more, on the other hand with the revenue growth the NFL has seen under his reign (not necessarily his doing) and his absurd level of PC (his rhetoric is painfully non-offensive and pandering), is his job safe for the foreseeable future?
