Because he is the best player anyone has mentioned in any of these hypothetical deals and even coming off knee surgery is much better than Thompson. You take the best value you can get. You can move Vasquez this summer if need be.

If Gordon is staying this is just not true. Aminu has been one of the best players on the team this season. Is he limited offensively? Sure. But he rebounds, plays defense, and runs the floor. The Hornets need more players that play defense than can score the ball.
If you move Gordon for Thompson, then yes- they need more scorers.

Aminu's jump shot is also coming around. Unfortunately, he's an unrestricted free agent.
Hindsight is a bitch sometimes, but Aminu's option was definitely worth picking up. I can't blame Dell on that one, though.
