Warriors just lost 6 in a row and may be panicking into making a move before the deadline.

Having two three point shooters like Anderson and Klay would be freaking awesome. The lanes would open up drastically. You'd then have to find a player that could penetrate.
it would be a nice luxury but is it a luxury our team can afford being so bad in some big spots.

Yes. Anderson is an extremely good player with a unique skillset on a good contract. Not something you give up unless you're getting unbelievable value.
We'd still have to get far more from GSW than Klay, especially if we're taking on a Jefferson or Biedrins. Gordon is a MUCH better player than Thompson, injuries and all. I think you tell them Barnes and Klay or no deal, they tell us to go frick ourselves, we wait until this summer and let the trade market play itself out.

Yea if we make this trade for anything less than Klay and Barnes then Demps caved and made a mistake

If we did that, I think it would be more about they just want to get rid of Gordon that bad, instead of caving.

I mean, I really like Klay, but I feel like we need more value than that, especially if we are taking on Jefferson or Biedrins.
It's going to be Jefferson. I remember when researching Demps before right before he got the job seeing something about him playing a part in Jefferson either going to the Spurs and/or restructuring his deal. Demps has gone with the familiar every chance he's gotten.

You may not get it though. I don't think Houston wants Gordon bad enough to give up much this summer and Dallas doesn't have anything to give. Unless Charlotte really wants Gordon Klay Thompson and garbage may be the best deal available.

I'd rather wait and see than take Klay and garbage. If we take that deal, that tells me the Hornets just want nothing to do with Gordon and just want him gone. I can live with it, I just want more.

Pretty much how I feel.
Klay is only a year younger than Gordon and has been in the league 2 years compared to Gordon's 5. How much better does Thompson get?

Klay is bigger, is a potentially better shooter...but Gordon is a better ballhandler, penetrator, defender, and gets to the line DOUBLE the amount of time Klay does. And I see a lot of GSW fans frustrated with him right now, calling him Klank.
I don't think Klay has reached is peak or anything, and I would love to have him, but like I said, its certainly not an even swap.

His per 36 stats indicate that he's actually gotten worse playing as a starter. His points are down and his percentages are down pretty significantly. I would guess that he probably won't ever be much better than he is right now.

So, what are the chances that Gordon actually gets traded before the dealine? It seems like only the Hornets want this to happen. Golden State loves Klay. Would Gordon accept or veto the trade? Panic move by the Warriors?
Posted on 2/20/13 at 9:58 am to Fun Bunch
Gordon's a player that draws fouls and gets to the FT line, Klay is not.

theres a huge risk associated with the wait and see approach... could it pay off? Sure, but Gordon has shown no ability to stay healthy throughout his entire career and if he suffers another big injury his value is shot... Yeah I know, if grandma had balls....
and while I think a healthy Gordon is a better building piece for this team than Klay Thompson.. This healthy Gordon is a myth at this point. Im not ready to totally give up on him yet, but I would hate to see this teams development hindered by his constant injuries... especially knowing we could have a Klay Thompson in his spot. I trust Dell will make the right choice, but its a tough one to make.

Gordon wouldn't veto a trade to the Warriors. However, I hope we don't do it unless we are also getting Barnes, which we are not.

Not very high

I think that's overstating the Hornets' position

lol. No, Gordon for Thompson would be a panic move on the Hornets' part.

I'd say giving up Gordon for Klay and a bad contract would be just as risky, if not riskier, than holding onto him and hoping he can shake the injury bug.

You say this like Klay Thompson is an above-average player.

I know its risky, but I feel like more options open up in the Summer. Worth the roll of the dice imo.
Obviously if you're getting Barnes and Klay (which, again, we are not getting), you run over there and carry them back to New Orleans immediately.
