Lebron has done way better in NBA dunk contests than Jordan EVER did
Well played.

anyone care to explain to me how Lebron is more athletic than Jordan? Still waiting to hear this one.
That's like asking me to explain why RG3 is more athletic than Drew Brees

you figs can't have it both ways.
If Lebron is THAT much more athletic than Jordan, then Jordan must have been THAT much better of a straight basketball player than him while Lebron simply relies on his athleticism to succeed.
If Lebron does have this high "skill level" many here claim, then Jordan must have been either extremely athletic himself or have impossible to match skill.
Having seen Jordan play, his skill level, as far as offensive MOVES go, was pretty basic (step back, pivot, spin, fake, jump into defender). So how was he getting to the rim? Magic?
ETA: not aimed at jturn

This might be the dumbest thing posted so far in this thread.

MJ is more Athletic cause he could hit baseball and LeBron could Never do that
Or at least that's what's been said in the the past with this ridiculous debate

Lebron is considerably more athletic than MJ, particularly at the same age.
James is as athletic now as MJ was at his most athletic, his first 3 years. Combine that with LBJ being larger than MJ, and there is your valid argument.
What MJ had going for him was he had no holes in his game, he was fearless, a heady player with great instincts, and he was really athletic. But MJ was not even the most athletic player in his day. I would say D-Wilk was, but that's debateable with several others.

And I'm still awaiting someone to explain to me how they expect Jordan would win a one on one match up besides the he is the greatest ever and he simply wouldn't let Lebron win.
Every argument y'all have made so far has been debatable. The thing that isn't debatable is LBJ is bigger and stronger(possible faster too)than Jordan.
As of right now:
One on One Lebron>MJ
Best ever MJ>>Lebron

I just don't get how anyone can say this stupid shite. I think MJ's playing days are just too far in the past for people to remember how athletic he was. Hell, in fact, I could make a case that a young Barkley was as athletic as Bron Bron.
Now, something I'd love to see is how Lebron would've done against someone like Rodman. Not just physically but mentally.

MJ was quicker, a better ball handler and a better defender. He'd likely pick LJ off a few times. Not to mention MJ was the best shot maker in the history of the game.

Then this is a stupid argument because if we're going by these 2 things a young Shaq would've owned the frick out of Lebron in a 1 on 1.

I think if they played 100 times it would likely be a 50/50 split.

I think you suffer from nostalgia bias
Most people my age refuse to admit that manning is a better QB than Montana

All of this.
For Jordan to be as good as he was, he had to have had a little athleticism in him.

If stats is all you go by then I would agree that Manning > Montana.
Where Montana separates himself from Manning is the playoffs.

"Jordan is considered by many to be the best player in NBA history. Barkley says he would never compare anyone to the Hall of Famer and six-time NBA champion. But Barkley also says that James is “just bigger, stronger, faster.”
That is a Charles Barkley quote.
So is Barkley more athletic than Jordan? Doubtful.
Stop having the old school biased. Modern athletes are getting bigger, faster, and stronger. It's science.

I'll give you jump shot maker. Everything else is debatable. Yet, Lebron gets to the rim when he wants.

Shaq isn't fast enough to defend Lebron and that's not even close.

Doesn't make them better.

So did MJ. I don't think Lebron could stop Mike one time 1 on 1. I think MJ could pick Lebron at least 2 or 3 times. He can be reckless with the ball sometimes.
