fire arm and ammo craze? Looking for some opinions

Just wondering how much longer we are going to have to deal with this whole firearm and ammo craze? I understand the theories of supply and demand, I am just wondering how much longer we will have to deal with ammo shortages and retailers limiting how much you can purchase, along with limited firearm supplies due to increased demand?
I am thinking maybe some time in the next 3-6 months , after what ever legislation comes out. But when do you think the bubble will burst and we will see people dumping firearms on to the market trying to get some value out of them?'
Sorry if this seems obnoxious, but I am doing some research for class, and I am really PISSED off that I can't buy another Springfield XDM because they are all gone. along with not being able to take the little lady to shoot because ammo is a pain in the arse to find.

Ammo will be backed up till at least the summer.
Gun craze will wax and wane, but probably won't go back to normal until the gun bill is struck down.

Some say the end is in 3-6 months, but others, myself included, think that this could potentially last for up to a year, just the way ammo has been backordered and with more people seeing that having a supply of ammo may not be a bad idea for times like these.
I dont think we are going to see people dump these weapons for a loss, at least not a lot of them, because I think people also realize that all it takes is one more nutjob to start this shite all over again

Probably a good while. The manufactures have a whole lot of catching up to do.

It just depends. Bigger stores, like Academy, Wal-Mart, etc, will get back to normal ammo inventories quicker.
For smaller stores, it could take over a year before they have the same inventory they had 3 months ago.

As soon as this shite eases somewhat i am going to dump some cash into reloading components even though i don't have reloading equipment yet. I reason that if I have the components i can buy press, dies tools at a later date.

I think there will be a larger supply of ammo by the end of February. Should be easier for them to ramp up production.
I can see the firearm demand to keep pushing supply on into the summer.

I think you will slowly start to see it loosen up around late summer IF there is no other nationally publicized shooting between now and then.
