I don't buy his statement at all. It seems completely too prepped.. especially this
quote:
"I hope that people can understand how trying and confusing this whole experience has been."
Posted on 1/17/13 at 1:48 pm to Bunk Moreland
quote:
"They started out as just friends," Brian Te'o said. "Every once in a while, she would travel to Hawaii, and that happened to be the time Manti was home, so he would meet with her there. But within the last year, they became a couple."
"And we came to the realization that she could be our daughter-in-law. Sadly, it won't happen now."
This one gets me every time.

Isn't the catfish movie fake anyway?

quote:
"Manti Te'o on 12/8, 2 days after hoaxers call again: "I don't like cancer at all. I lost both my grandparents and my girlfriend to cancer."
Why, after just learning this person was not dead, would he discuss her death?
Further oddities come in an interview with Kate Sullivan in which Te'o shared details of his relationship with Kekua:
"Before she passed, I know it's kind of creepy, but she would write letters for me before every game," Te'o told Sullivan. "The Stanford game was the last game she wrote a letter for."
Notre Dame beat Stanford on Oct. 13, one month and three games after Kekua's alleged passing. It's entirely plausible that Kekua had written the letters ahead of time. But why stop at Stanford?

THE MOVIE DIDN'T EXIST WHEN THIS STARTED.

Yes. And now it's a "reality TV" show on MTV...

This Brian Polian is full of crap.
Defending him saying he wasn't looking for Publicity bc he already plays for Notre Dame.
I can probably name 1 Notre Dame player over the past 3 seasons.

Can we stop with this Catfish shite? The doc and the show both suck.

More than likely yes.
Honestly people are dumb enough to get trolled like he did in the movie, but the whole documentary screamed recreated and added elements for drama.

This is what blows my mind. What normal parents would get this involved with an internet girlfriend? The whole family sounds like a basket case.

You are full of stupid.
You can't get Catfished if it didn't exist. Trolled, yes.

You underestimate how deep and elaborate the catfish stuff can go.
And you underestimate your own naivety.

THIS is the most damning of all, imo.
I'm over the rest of it.

I'm glad someone is pointing this out because it's getting annoying.

Who says they were involved? If they perceived that their son was in love, why would they not realize she could become their daughter in law?

I'd appreciate if he just came out and said he was full of crap. But no way he will admit to this.

What Gives you the LULZ the most about this story? there are so many choices, but my favorite is Brian Kelly giving the game ball to Lennay Kekua after the big win over MSU...handing the ball to TE'o to take back to Hawaii in her memory.

This is embarassing but I was on a group message talking about this, and there is a guy on there I consider my friend that believes the girl is real because that
NFL player said he met her. Even tweeted it. He said the question is whether the girl is real or whether Te'o got tricked. The dude is a straight clown when it
comes to talking about simple logic.
