Coach Miles is learning just like the rest of us

It's life. It's life and football. Every day we learn something new. We are all trying to better ourselves each day by not making the same mistakes over and over again. Coach Miles keeps making mistakes each year but he also keeps making the mistake of winning (80%)and going to bowl games every year coaching LSU football. I do guarantee you that Les is still making mistakes while learning about football and about life and how to utilize his players on the field and how to deal with them off the field etc..... It's a process. We never stop learning and neither is Coach Miles. He is humble enough to probably admit that. He isn't perfect. He's human like us. He is one of us. He is an LSU Tiger and he loves Tiger Stadium and the fans that fill the seats. Also, I know that most people on Tiger Rant know that Coach Miles had a brain aneurysm back when he coach at Oklahoma State and he is a strong willed person to overcome something like that because they say it affected the part of his brain that affects speech. I love his quirks and "Mileisms", his coolness and composure and his work ethic to make LSU the best it can be. He is here for the long term so if you don't like him you must learn to "put up with him" kinda like that cousin you don't like but must see annualy at Thanksgiving. Get on board Negatigers. You will either be won over by him or you will be a miserable Tiger fan. He is who he is and doesn't seem to change much because he has had success doing the same things over and over. It has made him millions and given LSU their best 8 year run of winning football in their long history. He's still learning just like you and I. He's human and he will make mistakes again. Who doesn't?

I don't think he's learning. I think he's stubborn and until he changes things we won't win a MNC again

Saban has 1st on lock down for awhile so Miles won't be the only one not to win a MNC.

Still learning what?
He shouldn't be still learning that it takes a real OC to call plays and set up more sophisticated plays off the previous plays. He shouldn't be still learning how to manage a clock. He shouldn't be still learning that if something ain't working then you need to adjust...during the game at that.
He shouldn't be still learning that when you have a lead you don't sit on it and let the other team gain momentum and the lead. He shouldn't be still learning that you have to let players play instead of holding on to the secret playbook.
He makes too much money to be learning Graduate Assistant level things at this stage in his career.

I agree with most of your sentiments--yes we all make mistakes. I have criticized him in the past & will likely continue to do so in the future on a few things. After all, this is a message board for Tiger fans & we all have the right to express our views. He is outstanding at recruiting and judging talent. However, he does benefit from an incredible talent base given the outstanding caliber of LA high school football.
I just wish that Coach Miles would think carefully about the OC situation & realize that going in a different direction there is in the best interests of the football program.

Learning curves and pay scales correlate in the most unusal fashions......

I like CLM and want him to be successful at LSU and keep the stability that he brings to the program.
But, if he is not willing to admit that major changes need to be made to this offense, then he can go because it'll only get worse and more embarrassing.
If we have an offensive repeat of last year, then we will start to see recruits go elsewhere.

It's life. Les Miles has a secret plan. Only he knows it. The rest of us are out of the loop. Too bad for us. Just buy your tickets and your LSU gear mindlessly. Ask no questions, expect no better. It's life.

This. I agree with 90% of your post.
However, we need help on the offensive side--coaching help.

The only thing I've seen Miles learn is how to build a shitty Offense. He done great at that since 2008.

Nice post but lost on the "tl;dr" crowd. What's funny is they want "their" opinions to be assessed as relevant and then they freely admit they never read anything longer than a paragraph!
I guess they were just born knowing EVERYTHING and have no need to read anything longer than a sentence or two. When you're born knowing it all, other peoples opinions and thoughts are irrelevant to your own.
They are actually pretty funny in their ignorance, they yell and scream and panic and are the KINGS of knee-jerk reactions. OF COURSE we should listen them and think their opinions are valid and relevant...they were BORN SPECIAL!

"he also keeps making the mistake of winning (80%)
??"
He's learning at approx. 4 mil per yr. That's not" just like us" at all.

Can someone pay me 4 million dollars to learn along with Miles? Or am I still keeping up with his pace for free?

Here is what we have with Miles. We have a man that strives for excellence but if he gets close and his players get close he is okay with that. He does not demand it. I hate Nick Saban but he demands execellence. That is my take on why we have what we have. Saban would never be satisfied with the mess of a fricking offense we have. He would fire someone and not care if they found a job or not.
