Good highlights. Looks long and certainly looks to have the hands.

I don't know Armand Williams football experience in high school, but if he played all through high school and Spears has just a year of experience and they are similarly then I would give Spears the edge. Spears will only learn more especially with college coaching now since it's all new to him. Up side!

so much for Spears ending up at LaTech

So this sounds like bad news for the rest of our targets.
I don't think we need another about 6 ft receiver and we have other targets and needs (at other positions) for this class.
I don't like how this bodes for how they think the rest of the targets look.
Anybody agree or disagree???

I respectfully disagree. This guy is at least 6'2 and I don't think we have any "needs" left to fill. Even looking at RB, we have Blue, Hill, Ware, possibly Magee, and maybe Lamar Louis in an emergency type situation.
I'm happy about this offer. IMO this dude is a Brandon Lafell clone. He seems to have great hands but hey every single receiver does in highlight tapes with the editing. High risk but an incredible ceiling. Let's sign him up

I think the kid is 6'2 plus, and very underrated. Flying way under the radar. Could be a huge get for us at a position of need.
Notice that acceleration off the line? Imagine how much better he will get year 2 of football. Damn.

Filler offer. Offer list says it all.

If he stays with Tech he'll probably end up as a 2/3* WR, at LSU he'll be a 4*

To me, this was the most impressive thing I saw in that highlight video

He will not be a 4 star this late in the game.
And as for offer list, hows that list for our 5 star White look?

I remember people asking why we took Mathieu and Claiborne a few years ago.

I will be surprised if a commitment from him is allowed before signing day if at all.
Not saying the kid doesnt have talent but he is going to be a "if the chips dont fall" kind of pick up.

The one saving grace here is he has only played one year of football.
I would pass on him. He is not very fluid in his cuts or in the open field and doesn't show tremendous speed. Average size, but does seem very natural catching the ball.
If he is the best we can field at WR, then we will be in trouble down the road. LSU is an elite program and I don't see him being that caliber.

He already verbaled to La Tech

This is the position we are having the most trouble finding elite players for. It was QB and WR but with the 2 we got coming in Les seems to have turned the QB problem around.
We need a lot of effort to go get a #1 reciever.
Spears looks like a project--probably worth the gamble but he is not going to fix our offensive problems (like an elite big WR would).

Jarvis Landry? Odell Beckham? John Diarse? These are elite players/prospects.

Even Julio Jones would have struggled with the our passing game last year...
We need QB that can get WR's the ball...LSU addressed that concern this year.

We must be missing on a lot of those juco receivers and decided to go with this guy.
I think this says something about Leslie, unfortunately.

Mett completed nearly 60% of his passes this season with an offensive line that couldn't pass block and WRs that were prone to drops. Unfortunately they don't record dropped passes as a stat, but our WRs were pretty pedestrian for the first 2/3rds of the season. Mett's not the best QB in the nation, but he wasn't exactly getting a ton of help from other players in the passing game.

There's no way to know this until they get into a real game.

He looks more like a Tech recruit than an LSU recruit to me.
