re: Congress will not pass weapons ban

I put this in another thread but I think it belongs here as well regarding the average person's concern about potential legislative restrictions.
I went to my local Academy this morning before it opened. I was one of 2 dozen people waiting for the doors to open. They had 3 ARs that sold as soon as guys reached the counter. There were 2 leftover 20 round .223 Promags that 2 guys snatched quick. The limited 223 ammo they had was gone in 5 minutes. There was some 9mm, a good bit of .40 and .45. I didn't buy anything myself. I was hoping they had gotten some PMAGS or bulk 9mm on the truck last night, but none to be had.
I would safely say that the hysteria is still out there though. Most people were friendly and talkative, but there were some who were blocking aisles and what not because they were worried you would grab what they were looking at

Just curious what do you think happens to the trained military force after they leave the military?

Sorry...
Active (organized, highly trained, with state-the-art arms) military force > armed civilians (with all types of back grounds)

Even the majority of the active ones will not fire on their own people if so ordered. Especially if it is ordered by a CIC that the vast majority of militarily personnel do not like.

I agree that the vast majority of military hate Democrats, but they also want to keep their jobs/benefits/honor and will do whatever their immediate superior tells them to do.

20 million pissed off people who know the land > 2 million people questioning their own actions

I'm pretty sure that the USSC ruled once that the order of the amendments has no bearing on their importance.

Well I'm not the SC and the 2nd is near the top in my mind.

While this is true, it is only true to an extent. Also, immediate superiors are not immune to the same morals/beliefs. This sort of thing is pretty prevalent throughout history. When a country becomes divided, so does it's military.

Signed,
British Army + Hessians
U.S. Army in Vietnam
Soviet Army in Afghanistan
Plus a whole bunch of governments that feel to communist insurgents.
I know I am missing a ton, just the first few that popped in my head.
And yes, I know there are plenty of instances where trained military forces won over armed civilians, but the point is that you cannot make automatically assume that it will happen.

I'm surprised you still comment here.
You always seem to be barking the wrong way, up the wrong tree.
But hey I guess everyone has an opinion, even if some are more misinformed than others.

The northeast is fricked locally.
NewYork
All PRE '94 magazines (they have had a ban since then) over 10 rounds are banned and must be sold out of state within 1 year.
Assault Weapon definitions expanded. Some guns banned by name.
Background checks for ammo with records kept.
High volume ammo purchases get reported to law enforcement.
Online ammo transactions much go through an FFL
All ammo must go through FFL.
You can keep your ten round mags, but you can only load 7 rounds
No new mags over 7 rounds.
Bunch of other stuff.

It was the second one the poineers of this country thought of, so it must be at the top of their list of importance. If it wasnt, they would've thought of it much later. Supreme court is wrong. They absolutely CAN be wrong because they have opposing rulings all of the time. Hell, they cant even settle 100% on the legality of anything today. It is a majority, not right or wrong.

Federally, I am worried about an import ban on firearms and ammo.
Most of the 5.56 I buy is Prvi Partizan and IMI. Prices would get insane with only domestic.
5.45 would be even worse off, and 7.62x39 would be right behind it.

This...It's not like we'd line up across a grassy field and fire away. It'd be guerilla warfare. Hit and runs. Not to mention the sheer numbers.
