For a casual classic Nola neighborhood joint, can't go wrong with Mandina's on canal street.

Mondo on Harrison in Lakeview. I like sitting at their bar. It's actually a really comfortable bar to dine at.

Seafood, Italian. Trout almandine and trout meuniere are both very good there. You could watch a game in the bar area, don't think so in the restaurant.

Also closed on Sundays. In fact I think they closed for good, but I hear Madigan's is nice.

Also try Deanies Seafood in the Quarter. Forgot the street, but the fried seafood platter will feed both of y'all and fun place to go

Second Mandina's for casual neighborhood restaurant with a huge menu. Don't know that there's atmosphere in the sense of romantic or the view of Canal St.
, but it fits otherwise. I like the place a lot.
I haven't been to Katie's, but lots of folks here recommend it.

Slice pizzeria is on Magazine Street and closes at 10 tonight.
One of my favorite places, try the barbecue shrimp po boy.
