Best places in BR for live music

Girlfriend and I were trying to brainstorm a list of places to check out good live music, so I figured I would enlist the FDB for help. Could be a restaurant, bar, or some combination thereof. Not really looking for "venues" with what Baton Rouge would call headliners (Varsity, etc), but more places to relax, have a few drinks/eat, and listen to some local stuff.

Just to clarify, I meant "laid back" simply to mean that I'm not looking for a scene with people crowding the stage, dancing, etc. It can certainly be a nicer establishment, a la Melange in New Orleans. If we've got a Snug Harbor hiding somewhere in Baton Rouge, by all means, let me know ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Thursday nights - Jazz at Gino's (or Blues if Luther Kent is singing).
