On talk radio here in TN after hashing out the SEC, and on ESPN post game commentary, we are an afterthought at best behind Bama, A and M, UGA, SC, and UF.

Heck, we aren't even in ESPNs early top ten. Perhaps rightfully so. We can't expect to be ranked high, if our offense is among the worst in the nation statistically, yet again, and we lose half our defense, with leaders like M and M, and Minter.

Now, I am not saying for a second that it can't be turned around, because, Miles has shown an ability to change when absolutely necessary. And, we are very capable of reloading on D.

But, we will be on the outside looking in to start the season for this first time in a while.

How long has it been since we were not preseason top 10?

The BCS loss last year after going undefeated still stings, and losing to BAMA the way we did this year, only to watch them win ANOTHER BCS title stings also. And the Clemson loss with our woeful offensive performance is just piling on.

Let's hope we finish strong in recruiting, and make the necessary coaching adjustments to get back on top. Nothing like a big game in Jerry World to get it going.

Does not concern me much your statement. Bama needed a comeback drive at the last 90 seconds to beat LSU. A&M lost to LSU. USCe also. UF had 0 points starting the 3Q. GA did not play.
LSU will be all right. They need to hire a new OC though. Can't win them all.

I prefer a team with a chip on their shoulder. The 2011 team had that chip on their shoulder and rode it to 13 straight. When we got into Nola we thought we were unbeatable.

We are once again underdogs. We play best in that role

Miles had a good career, he had a good run. Now all the former things must come to pass. We will find another good coach.

We are so close yet so far away. The fix isn't that impossible to achieve. It may has well be 1000 mile hike through Siberia. All Miles has to do is bring the offense up to a top 50 level and we should be ok. I don't believe the offense finishes the top 50 next year. Nothing changes and we are inconsistent again next year.

I grew up in the Arnsparger-Archer years, I came of age in the Hallmam-Dinardo years so maybe I am a bit jaded. I suffered through the 2-9 and 3-8 seasons I remember loosing to the likes of Colorado State, so forgive me if I dont buy into the whole sky is falling crowd.

We will have some down years, but a down year at 10-3 sure as hell beats a down year of 2-9. I'm excited to see what Kwon and Debo, Thompson and Rasco can do next season. Does Miles need to change the offense? Yes he does, but reading this board and seeing all this whining over a 10-3 season, after remembering how excited I was back in the 90s when we beat Arkansas and became bowl eligible for the first time in 7 years is mind blowing.

2 years (2010 preseason polls - USA #16, AP #21) we then went 11-2.

It really doesn't matter. I can guarantee you LSU will beat A&M, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama next season.

A team crippled by injuries and suspensions goes on to lose two games in the final minutes of games to end up at #12 and fans like you are crying like a kid who has been deprived of his favorite candy.

It's pathetic our team has so many cry babies in its base.

Preseason polls don't mean anything - neither Notre Dame or Louisville was even ranked in the preseason top 25 for 2012. Florida barely made the preseason top 25. Michigan was in the top ten and fell out of the top 25 by year's end. Of course you know all about preseason #1, FUSC.

The only thing that matters now is closing out a great recruiting class!

Our SOS next year may play in to the lower preseason ranking.
