re: The sec streak will go to 10+

I agree - If the SEC wins it next year, I think it will become even more of a regularity once the playoffs begin. Sans last year, it is unlikely for 2 SEC teams to finish in the top 2 given the SECCG - so you'll likely have 1 SEC team in the top 2, and another in the 3/4 spot - with that being the case, I predict many more all-SEC NC games.

That's pretty rediculous. He had a staff that was together for several years and a good enough amount of upper classmen.
Will they be in the mix every year for the foreseeable future? Of course. They won't win it every single year though, that's rediculous.

This is a pretty valid point...at the same time when you have defenses as good as some of the SEC schools, you will not need as much time to prepare.
I think giving a month to someone like Nick Saban or John Chavis to prepare for an offense is a big reason why you see some of these more prolific offenses struggle in Chamoionship games, the athletic ability doesn't hurt either, but I think people under estimate the coaching.

I keep hearing this term thrown around. What is this suppose to mean? The top 6 teams in the SEC would probably beat Notre Dame. The SEC also has 2-3 more very respectable teams this year. How is that top heavy?
What about Oregon and Stanford? Do they not make the Pac 12 top heavy? Or how about Oklahoma and Kansa State in the Big 12 this year? Show me a conference that isn't top heavy by your standards. Let's stop throwing around the term like it somehow discredits the SEC, because it's dumb.
No, I don't think the top 6 beat ND. Top 2 or 3 for sure (Bama, A&M, GA) but not the top 6. I hate ND but I'm also a realist. The SEC looked very average during bowl season. GA struggled vs a putrid Nebraska team that tOSU and Wisky absolutely waxed, USCe got lucky to beat 8-4 Mich (who ND beat), LSU lost to a coach named Dabo and FLA got hammered by freaking Louisville. You always claim to have this daunting SEC schedule yet you only play 2 or 3 big games a year and the top 6 don't all play each other. Plus your OOC schedules suck for the most part.
Yes, most conferences are top heavy. The bottom 6 of the SEC was awful but so was the bottom 6 of most other conferences.
Bama wins championships because they have the best coach in America. However, I agree that playoffs will bring more parity because teams will not have as much time to prepare.

I don't think the streak will go to 10+ wins.
Don't get me wrong, If the SEC makes it to all of them then I think they will likely win them all, but I think they could get left out.
If there are 2 undefeated from major conferences with big names (OU, USC, Oregon, Texas, hell even add in ND) they would jump a 1 loss SEC. It very well likely could have happened this season.
The SEC was the most dominant conference with the best teams, but you can't win if you don't make it.

And I don't think the sec makes it to the title game in a four team playoff this year

which is why the SEC should support a champions only model. Protect their #1 team in years in which the conference cannibalizes itself.

No. It assures the SEC a team in the 4 team playoff. Some years they may get two but I see that as a rarer event.

Nah, you hope. We can and will continue to compete with Bama and Saban.

The biggest threat to the SEC is absolutely Meyer and OSU. After that it'd probably be:
Oregon (as long as they keep Kelly)
Stanford (as long as they keep Shaw)
Notre Dame (if they can recruit speed at DB and WR)
USC (if they ever get a coach)
To be honest, the biggest threat to the SEC would have been Texas A&M staying in the Big XII and not joining the SEC as I think they win atleast 1 with Manziel.

Keep hanging on those coattails LSU fans. That's just pathetic.
Frick you. LSU finished second in the best division of the best conference in the country, behind the national champion. And they lost a bowl game they had no desire to be in. Woopty-fricking-do.

Are they the last hope of the rest of the country? Can anyone else be hyped up? Once the playoffs start, it's only going to help the sec.
Playoffs will weed out the hype.

I'm predicting Georgia fricking it up. We lose to Clemson and South Carolina, rally off 10 straight wins, and upset Bama/A&M. And then we're left out and the streak breaks.

Sounds good to me !
Can't wait for this game by the way.

It's a moot point. If tOSU was eligible or if Oregon didn't lose in OT to Stanford the SEC streak would have ended this year.
So then it was a moot point, cause they both happened.
