I fully recognize just how much success we've had. One can do both you know.
Sure, we've had success. Now imagine a degree or two of more success. Would it be possible to have had a 14-0 season and MNC last year? Before the Bama Dynasty was declared by the media? What if it were now the LSU Dynasty. We were whispering about that all last season as #1 LSU marched through its schedule unbeaten. Then came 1/9 and the total exposure of all the shortcomings of the current regime. And then came this highly successful 10-3 season, in which but for some 13 or 14 points, LSU could have been unbeaten again. But wasn't. Couldn't score those points offensively. Not even on Clemson. Had Alabama beat/gave it away. UF - who can explain away that one? A piece is missing from this jigsaw. It's not yet irreversible, but the Decade of the Tiger seems to be on the wane.

Somebody please tell the 4-Million Dollar Man that some serious hiring and some serious rebuilding work needs doing this off-season.

It's only getting worse. The LSU juniors know. It's a leading indicator.

I'm sorry, but the little fix-all mantra "Remember the 90s" doesn't work in 2013. The 90s are long gone. We've tasted more. I'd rather say "Remember 2003, 2007" and Remember what might have been in 2011 except for 1/9/12" and live in what is more of a present reality. Hallman didn't pop out of nowhere. It took some decades of instability and complacent fans to get to that point.

With all the defections to the NFL this year, we will be hard pressed to win 8 games. Losing most of our defense, & no offense with our schedule we are going to be hurting. I hope the Tigers can compete next year.

DUDE, we are a top 25 team. Let's celebrate our TEAM. It could be much worse. Miles has rescued us from being perennial losers.

That would be awesome...I agree.

I think that's true. I'm not SURE that even if it's fixed that automatically reverses the past 2 years, because we're just not playing these things in a vacuum. Even if we WERE better on offense, we still could very well have lost a couple of the games that really mattered. We could certainly still have lost last year's rematch with BAMA even of our offense wasn't a bag of shite on fire. But I get your point.

I agree the offensive woes issue is not irreversible just as our defensive woes in 2008 weren't. I'd disagree that the decade of the Tigers is waning. I think this is only the case with a portion of the LSU fanbase.

I'd like that, though I think the issue at this point is Miles. He seemed to completely close up shop offensively after the 2008 season when an unprepared and poorly coached Lee lost multiple games by being asked to do too much and turning the ball over time and again. THAT's when he became the guy we see tinkering with the offense. I'd be happy with some mandatory therapy to get over the 2008 season and move on from it as much as I'd like a new OC.

I am sorry but i cannot except that lately we are second best! If we had any leadership & coaching on offense we would have been in the NC game. I hope u guys are young because it will be several years before Lsu will be back in the hunt!!!

It's not about the 3 losses. It's how we were handed those 3 losses.

2 of those losses were from blown leads late in the 4th quarter. I hate to keep harping on it, but if we figured how to hold a lead, then we would've been playing in that game last night.

DUDE, we spent last season ranked #1 and finished #2. That is something to celebrate (kind of) - moreso if we'd shown up on 1/9 with something resembling a game plan for victory and played like the #1 ranked team we were.

If some things don't change in this off-season, it will be much worse. Being ranked #12 or 14 is nice, but considering where we've been... it's a letdown.

Nope. DiNardo brought back the magic - then lost it with Tepper. But the coach who really rescued LSU from the loser box is the same one that has lifted 3 BCS Crystal Footballs in the last 4 years. And his name is not Les Miles.

It's going to be a long season in '13 if our offense doesn't improve significantly. I just don't see it getting much better with Stud/Miles.

The defense is gutted and won't carry us like it did in 2011 and most of this past season.

Why are you bashing the team and players. I don't understand this!

DUDE, Saban left us with a 9-4 team. FOUR losses! Do you know how bad that is compared to what Miles has done here?

That stinks. Wow. Expected I guess. Just imagine if we got a first down or Reid batted that ball. Another top 10.

This season left the fanbase cold.
Injuries, Honey Badger's self-immolation, lack of offensive continuity, injuries, suspensions, heart-breaking endings, injuries, bowl meltdowns, etc etc...
Here is to the Universe setting that karma back in 2013...

DUDE, do you even understand your own statement? How long had it been since LSU last won a MNC? 45 years, I believe. Yes, Saban is the one who brought LSU out of the Dinardo/Hallman/Archer doldrums and into the light. If you can't admit that, you just don't get it. But before you knee-jerk into thinking I want Saban back, that's not my wish at all. What I wish is for Les Miles to quit being such a block-head, hire a for-real OC, take care of his already for-real DC, focus on recruiting and leave the offense alone. Then I believe it is possible LSU will reach even greater heights than we already have.

But am I or have I bashed the LSU team and players as you assert in this thread? Nope.

I just refuse to be blind to their situation. And their situation is the result of coaching. DUDE.
