Hitman: Absolution or Assassin's Creed III

I have a gift card to Best Buy and if I don't end up getting movies or something, I've narrowed down my game choices to these two.
I played through AC2 and really loved it. I started Brotherhood, and I did like it but haven't been able to push through. Didn't touch revelations. Hitman 2 is right up there for all time favorite games for me. I tried a couple of the games in the series since then, but nothing ever wowed me.
Are these two games more of the same in the series, or do they offer something new and innovative to get excited about. I'm leaning towards Hitman because I loved the process of determining the target and picking your way to take it out.
Convince me of one or the other.

I have credit on my gamestop card for that. Quit being a nag.

It has me. The others do not.

Trade it for a Steam gift card

Oh hey look it's you with your typically shitty joke.

This thread is off to a great start.

I fail to see where I was making a joke.
Sic, go with Hitman. I'm not big on these types of games, yet it has me hooked

AC3 is still a good game despite the sub-par story. It has plenty of side-quests to keep you busy for weeks. I think if you enjoyed playing the previous AC games you will be happy with it. There is some DLC scheduled to come out soon too.
I have never played Hitman, so I can't talk about that.

I can wait and watch guard patterns for some time

This shite would drive me nuts.

Hitman. AC lost its luster quick for me and got boring. Hitman is simply amazing. The creativity you can use to complete your objectives is nuts.

Did you play any of the other AC games?

AC1 blew something awful. II is one of my favorite games ever, and Brotherhood was great as well.
Haven't played Revelation or III yet, taking a break before getting back into it.

Yes, simply to see the story unfold. I wasn't ever a huge fan of the gameplay.

We already have one poster saying the story blew chunks in 3.. so.. what is your spoiler free opinion of it?
P.S: Keep in mind I'm much more interested in the modern day crap than I am about some hallucinations you see through the hallucination machine.. even though I have enjoyed SOME of those stories..
