I've enjoyed bourbon and whiskey for many years now but was never one to venture out from the few that I knew. Thanks to TheDude and his bourbon tasting he did a few months ago, I've been wanting to venture out more and try new things, maybe even build up a collection. So he and I hit up Martin's and Dorignac's on Sunday after lunch @ World of Beer. I grabbed a few budget bottles that were on Breaking Bourbon's list of best bottles under $30. I know you guys won't be too impressed, but it's nice to have a few more options other than Maker's and Bulleit:

Good choices. Eagle Rare 10, Buffalo Trace and 1792 are also very good in that price range.

Today's acquisition. My first single malt.

That weller isn't my favorite. Have some now. Buffalo trace is very good IMO

I've had Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare before, wanted to try something new. It was between the Elijah Craig or the 1792...may get that next time. The Weller wasn't the one I was looking for, but the site mentioned all 3 were solid. Now I just need to get some proper drinking glasses.
