Deadwood, and for me it's not even close. Once you're done with that, Justified.

I've heard several conservatives that like the West Wing, because they like the characters and story and political process so much they can view the political opinions as just another motivation for the characters, the same way the parks department is a motivation for Leslie Knope.

Of course, that's looking at it intelligently...if you own a Bill O'Reilly coffee mug, don't even bother...

Both of my parents are right-leaning and my dad loves the show for the story and my mother hates it for the character's ideologies.

I'm about as conservative as they come but I also like to look at both sides of an argument which is why I LOVE the west wing. Sorkin shows his political leanings but he also presents them in a non-obnoxious way. He also has great scenes presenting the conservative viewpoint with Ainsey Hayes' character.

The West Wing is my favorite show of all time. I've seen the first four seasons at least 3-4 times through. It has great rewatchability. I highly highly recommend this show, even if you do lean to the right like myself.

there were some great characters in DEADWOOD, but I just couldn't get into it. I guess Westerns just arent for me.

Justified is badass though.

West Wing is available on Amazon Prime. I think Deadwood is on HBOGO. I only see Justified on Amazon if I buy it.

Thanks!

West wing and its not close.
I am very conservative and the leanings didn't bother me.
Great writing, realistic, great well developed characters, great insight into the workings of the political process...
Just typing this makes me want to watch them again...

Great writing

Best written show ever, IMO. The first four seasons are poetry.

West Wing gets a bit preachy, but it is undoubtedly wonderfully written and acted.

Al Swearingen (sp?) on Deadwood is a must-see character.

You can knock out the three short seasons of Deadwood a lot quicker than seven long seasons of West Wing.

Justified is lighter fair than either of these. A fun show that I absolutely love. If you like The Shield and SOA, this is right up your alley.

I actually liked The 4400 more than BSG (Ducking now.)

Great show.. forgot to list it. I only watched it about a year or so ago. Truly sucks that it didn't last long.

Agreed that Justified is much lighter fair than Deadwood. For me, the good premium cable series are just in a different league compared to regular tv. Shows like Deadwood, Weeds, The Tudors, Entourage, etc. have elevated my enjoyment of watching tv to another level.
