I believe Hamilton has told the Rangers he's going to allow them match/beat any offer he receives... something like that. After losing out on Grienke and the probability of them landing Upton miniscule, it's unlikely they'd let Hamilton leave Texas... especially to the Angels.

The Angels and Dodgers should agree to save some money and bail out the state of California

Rangers went from perpetual favorite to 3rd best in the west so far this offseason, and Seattle is getting better

That's a cool signing and all, but who's gonna pitch for the Angels next year? They lost 3/5 of their staff.

Angels now have arguably three of the five best players in the American League on one team.

Trout
Pujols
Hamilton

Really great deal for the Angels now. In 2015 when the Pujols and Hamilton contracts are albatross' around the Angels neck, not so
much.

Damn. I'm wondering just what the Rangers' FO has been doing this offseason. After whiffing on Greinke, et al you would think they would've gone back to Josh.

Rangers are going to need Moreland, Olt, Profar and others to step it up... BIG time. There's going to be a lot of production that is gone due to who has left.

In Jon we trust, I guess...

Pretty tepid response to this signing in LA, judging by the local radio.

Starting pitching is a question mark.

Bullpen was inconsistent as hell last year.

Don't really see how he helps their problems. Angels still have shite pitching. And a lot of his power will be sapped in that park.

Flushing money down the drain.

Chiming in from Thailand. Solid move, but likely overpaid and went with an extra year to secure the deal. At the end of the day if they can go to and win 2 World Series Championships in the next 5 years then his deal (allong with APs deal) should be viewed as succesfull.

Angels' lineup in my opinion should be
CF Trout
2B Kendrick
1B Pujols
RF Hamilton
LF Trumbo
3B Callaspo
DH Morales
C Iannetta
SS Aybar

Really nice combo at the top of the lineup and Kendrick is solid with the bat in his hands (sacrifice, hit to the right side of the infield etc). I could see swapping Callaspo and Kendrick, but I like Howie in the #2 slot. You could also give Trumbo a full off season to adjust to 3B and play Bourjos in CF with Trout in LF.

Pitching is a bit problematic, but I think the following rotation wins you some games.

Weaver
Wilson
Hanson
Blanton
Richards

IF you can get Dickey, then great, if not just go with the those 5. Also, you still have Jerome Williams as a spot starter/long reliever.

I think Madsen is the closer and then you have Burnett, Frieri, Jepsen, and Downs gives you some flexibility.

Overall the Angels are poised to make a run and I like the agressiveness.
