Obviously they were wrong, but Evangel is indeed weaker than before. Personally I'd prefer to let everyone play up. Use the multiplier for private schools like every other state.
Agreed

Couple of things:
HS Coaches can legally talk to junior high kids about their HS plans but not kids already in HS. All private schools recruit all of their students to attend their school.
parents freely choose to send their kid to a private school, there is no such thing as a school "going to get" a kid.
HS parents of kids already in a program are far more responsible for recruiting for their program than any HS coach.
There is far more illegal recruiting of HS age kids going on in the public schools than in the private schools simply because there is no tuition situation to deal with and all they have to do is move from one rent house or apartment to another.
The tuition assistance programs at private schools are heavily monitored by the LHSAA and the school system/diocese admins

Curtis would roll them by 20+ brah
Curtis played far under my expectations this past weekend. Considering they beat a better team last year 33-3, I expected a lot more. Especially considering how terrible Evangel's defense was.
Curtis would still beat Parkview, but if they played like they did last week. It wouldn't be a blowout.

So he graduated form WM, but still transferred after playing at Wossman. To say that only private schools recruit is total BS.

I was at that game. later, Hahnville beat Evangel in a ridiculous affair

So the real pricks aren't the ones with 101 players dressed out in a school of 300 kids total?
I know most of the kids that play are all recruited, but JT also doesn't cut kids. He says if someone wants to come out to practice and play and put in the work, then they can be on his team. I do like that philosophy for high school kids.

Kids go to private school because they want to be there. Period

Wasn't Darius Reynaud on that Hahnville team?

JT Curtis .... The man who was too scared to go to 5A.

Yes, Reynaud was on that team.

Why doesn't the LHSAA just put the private schools in one league and the public schools in another? Virtually every private school that is a football power recruits players or at the very least, kids who are superior athletes transfer out of public schools to go to certain private ones just to play football. It's killing some of the smaller public schools who have to rely on playing kids who are in their enrollment zone. Candy coat it however you want but it is NOT a level playing field and never will be as long as private schools are allowed to compete in the same classification as public schools.

just saw where Curtis only gave up 60 points all year. Wow just wow.

I thought so. I knew I remembered them to have some guy that wound up playing in the NFL. Shame LSU couldn't get him.

Its not just JC and Evangel. I know of 2 very good football players who were recruited by Parkview. Catholic High has done the same thing recently. Numerous private schools do it across the state. How do you think these players show up at these schools? The only solution is a break between private and public schools for championships. This will never happen so I hardly ever bring it up. The private schools could govern themselves and do whatever they wanted.
