Just finished the 300 rounds of 230g FMJ break in period for my 1911. Time to pony up and purchase some hollow points.

What are your suggestions? I want reliability as far as feeding goes, other than that, I am all ears. I know I should buy a few and see what mine likes, but I would rather start with some that others have had success with.

Good recs. OTOH, I shoot mainly Rem Golden Saber or Speer Gold Dot, largely due to availability issues. When I first got my 1911, these two were about the only self defense rounds that weren't nearly impossible to find. I've since shot some Critical Defense, but wasn't impressed w/ accuracy or reliability (feeding issues).

I've still got a case of true nuff .45 Black Talons. If I nick you, you'll hold still.

Shooting a S&W 4506.

A .45 is a giant hunk of lead, hollow point or not.
