Probably been done 1000 times, but we all like these threads.

Not necessarily who you think are the BEST, but your 5 favorites. It might be style, attitude, skill, influence, whatever.

I'll start:

1. Carter Beauford - Dave Matthews Band
2. Josh Freese - A Perfect Circle / Various
3. Brad Wilk - Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave
4. Stuart Copeland - The Police
5. Taylor Hawkins - Foo Fighters

Honorable Mentions:
Neil Peart - Rush
John Bonham - Zeppelin
Danny Carey - Tool

All of the above named drummers have very big influences to how I personally play my kit when coming up with original stuff.

Favorites:

Moon
Hawkins
Bonham
Jimmy Chamberlin
Grohl

Those are my biggest influences probably. The list would change a bit if we were talking favorite, but not much.

go to the Band/Artist thread stickied to the top...a few weeks ago there was a vote out of 10--I believe Neil Peart took the popular vote...

Steve Jordan is one of the best.
The Groove is Here.

Steve and John Mayer Jam Session in the hotel.

Interesting note, Steve plays 17" hi-hats.

Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree, others)
Dino Campanella
Zach Hill (Hella, Team Sleep, others)
Neil Peart (Rush)
Morgan Agren (Frank Zappa, Kaipa, Mats and Morgan, Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects, and many others)

Pay special attention to the video of Morgan around the 2 minute mark. Dude's heart must beat about 130 times per minute.
