You could at least try to spell his name right.
It's Jarrett Lee.
Also, you think that the head coach at LSU should put a player in a game because he has character, regardless of his actual playing ability? We had two C+ QB's last year. One that was terrible as a decision maker, and one that wet his pants every time he played Alabama.
You represent a vocal minority of people who, thankfully, have no say in the big boy business of LSU football. You can't name more than 5-6 teams in the entire country that have had this level of stability for 8 years; LSU made a smart business move by locking him up. They know that whatever buyout is in the contract, they can pay. So, you are either locking up 10+ wins per year over the next 7 years (which would put Les at over 150 wins as an SEC coach), or you are getting a few more good years, a decline that everyone's been predicting for 8 years but hasn't happened, and then you can find a new coach.
Anyone who doesn't see how this actually benefits LSU is a moron.

frick a raise and extension....Sounds a whole lot like America and Obama.
Gosh, I'm surprised we got to Page5 before BO got irrelevantly mentioned in a football thread again.
C'mon, GOP. Take your Prozac and shake it off.

Every 5 years? Why you do want to get the guy fired?

It' simple at one level:
Miles' commitment to LSU is good for so long as he says it is; that is, til he can force LSU to up the ante.
His word is his bond.
Until it isn't.
Words like loyalty, integrity and trust come to mind...

Are you talking about that little midget we had here a while back?

In your world, all people must remain in their jobs, at their current level of pay, until someone else green light's the raise, right?
It is disloyal to ask for a raise or to consider job other job offers?
Wow.

Read my prior post.
I'm supposed to be the nitwit here...
Do you know how an employment contract works?

In nitwit's mind, Les should work for free and just be glad he works here. He has zero business sense. None. Nada. I like him to post. It's sad and entertaining at the same time. Hell, if I thought he was bright, I'd hire him and never give him a raise. I'd ask for loyalty, commitment and trust at the first interview and hold him to it.

What? I think Miles deserved a raise, just not this year. He deserved one after last year. Alleva didn't give him one, so Les used Arkansas to get what he deserved. I have zero problem with that.
Just because I don't believe some b.s. press conference with false reasons for a raise, doesn't mean I don't think Miles deserved a raise.
Alleva screwed the pooch last year and didn't show Miles his appreciation for the best regular season LSU has ever had. If Miles couldn't get a pay raise after last year, his only other choice was to get an offer and let Alleva work from there. Shame on Alleva and kudos to Miles.

Gris Gris,
I deal with employment contracts nearly every day.
I also have a couple of businesses that do pretty well.
And, yes, trust, loyalty and integrity are important considerations to me.

So do I. That's why I understand this. I can't figure out why you don't other than ignorance.
Posted on 11/28/12 at 9:25 pm to Gris Gris
Yes, it also occurs to me that your lack of understanding Is fostered by ignorance.

Frankly, grisgris your posts do not reflect even a basic understanding of these contracts.
I'm calling BS.

ok, just for the fun of it:
nitwit or gris gris, who will be the first to admit that they got their business from their dad?
i'm betting nitwit was born on 3rd base and thinks he hit a homerun.
note: i you read this board alot, it becomes very east to evaluate intelligence. some people are very intelligent w/ school learning, but absolutely stupid about common sense. usually this is a reflection of immaturity. wisdom is usually earned w/ lots of experience, worked for, not inherited.

Less Miles does not deserve a raise, much les an extension. More disappointed in the University for continuing in the wrong direction. This will hurt LSU in the long run both in the football program and in reputation for academics.
Posted on 11/28/12 at 9:41 pm to Templars
Not that I'm not happy Miles is staying but do we really need to always add years/give a raise every time another team pretends interest? They did the same thing with Chavis. Miles just signed an extension.
