I disagree with this.

The entire ending of Batman was paint by numbers. It tried to cornhole you with sense depth that was really as deep as the average Bieber tune.

DKR was Bieber trying to be Maynard

Avengers was Justin Timberlake being Justin Timberlake. Sure it was mindless action fare, but that is all it was trying to be.

There is something to say for genuineness.

This isn't directed at who I'm quoting but I love how people say this and then talk shite about Transformers.

I'd rather listen to Justin Timberlake than Maynard anyway, much less from an imitator. Which probably explains why I like the Avengers better.

What I like about the Avengers is that it is well-written. One of my big complaints about action stunt spectacular is they have a $100 million budget and they can't find room in the budget for a decent writer. That's what makes the Avengers better than say, the Transformers.

I wasn't a fan of the third act either of TDKR, and I think it went to the safe "well,it's a comic book movie" cop out when it was clearly trying not to be one for two and a half films.
