The number of mis-informed, and often just flat wrong, analysis/observations is mind boggling to me. Not to mention the attitude of a majority of these posters who think that their opinion is flawless... even the ones who obviously have no clue as to how a college football team actually operates.

My question is, how do you keep from losing your sanity during the offseasons with the multitude of ignorant shite spewed on here?

I never lose my sanity reading td..

I do, however, routinely make a fool of myself during LSU games.

That's the way the rant is. Don't let it get to you.

grain of salt

always give others the right to their opinion even if it is narrow, based on no facts at all, and oozing ignorance.

you quickly figure out who to ignore. It's mostly same-shite different day. After the 2003 BCSCG, there were posters on here proclaiming that players cramping up during the game was inexcusable. After the TN game in 2005, there were predictions of 7-9 losses.

Opinions are like assholes ... everybody has one.

And there are a lot of "opinions" on the Rant.

As someone else said, take it with a grain of salt. Accept it for what it is--an entertaining glimpse into the minds and hearts of some members of the most passionate fanbase in college football. It is also a good source to make sure you are aware of breaking news of all kinds (not just LSU, but the rest of the SEC, Saints, other sports and off topic issues as well). Just be sure to read the links and exercise your own judgment, rather than taking anything said on here as gospel.

Although I disagree and shake my head at much that is posted here, I try not to miss it. And there are a number of friends, colleagues, family members whose only interest in LSU is derivative of mine, but routinely ask me "What's new on the LSU board today?"

Don't read the rant, stay on other boards, read it in jest, never take anyone serious, make fun of those with ignorant comments, sarcasm, incite riots

I stay away during the offseason. It's not because I can't stand it. I just need a life outside of late-August thru January. I peek around a little leading up to NSD.

I was on tigerbait.com for a long time until I kept getting pointed to here for this and that. I haven't been on the other site in years.

I have not been an official member that long, but have read the rant for years. The best way to deal with the posters that piss you off is start learning their names. The same ones tend to make the same type posts that drive you crazy. Then, you can just skip their posts, or read them for entertainment value.

The rant is like the population in general. Half the people don't know what the hell is going on, but they have opinions anyway.

That is the entertainment that keeps me coming back. It is solid gold sometimes. And sometimes its a flaming bag of dog poop. If you take the internet serious...you are doing it wrong.

First, I just ignore the sunshine pumpers. Their posts are pretty useless when it comes to actual analysis of LSU football. Second, I avoid the Rant.
