I'm sure this is being discussed elsewhere, but Official Kent State Watch Thread

Noteworthy events:
#15 Oregon State loses to Oregon
#16 Texas loses to TCU
#17 UCLA loses to Stanford
#18 Rutgers loses to Pitt
#19 Michigan loses to Ohio State
#20 Louisville loses to UConn
#21 Oklahoma State loses to Oklahoma
#22 Boise State DNP
#23 Kent State beats Ohio
Some of these losses are REALLY bad, too. And Rutgers/Louisville has to win the Big East. Sounds kinda crazy for a MAC team to jump all the way from #23 to top-16, but the dominoes are starting to fall and they've got a decent game in the MAC Championship...
...against Northern Illinois, who, right behind them, is also able to claim the BCS auto-bid.
Who wants to set the over/under for an FSU/Kent State Orange Bowl?

A loss to Kentucky should eliminate you from BCS discussion.

They're going to need their computer ranking to go up and that's highly unlikely because some teams in front of them that lost will still be ahead and a few BCS teams that were behind them might pass them.

07 UK would beat 12 UK by 60. Not even comparable.

maybe kent state can start a little higher in the preseason poll next year, THEN they might get their shot.

Kent State in a BCS game would be hilarious. Hazell has done wonders with this program.

i can't believe a fricking 1-loss non-BCS team not named Boise State is about to play in a BCS bowl

Does Kent potentially take the Big East bid, or do both teams go? I thought they had to be top 16 and finish ahead of a ACQ conference champ.
Since bowl games are meaningless, I'm totally rooting for Kent, who did beat Cincinnati. Go Flashes!

both go. i don't think anything can take a conference's auto bid

Oh well. I'd prefer if it was "steal the team's bid" like a game show. Like Kent St goes to the Orange Bowl as the Big East representative on the grounds that the Big East couldn't finish higher than a MAC school.

Kent upsets LSU in a BCS bowl. TD would be down for an entire day.
