Who plays 3rd base this year? Hanover was deadly with that throw to first. I'd like to see that continue.

Is the laird kid any good? I know he's fast

VERY fast. But from what I saw he has an average freshman bat.
I honestly have no idea who will play 3rd base this year. If I'm CPM I'm spending the entire OOC experimenting and finding what works best. I'm thinking Jones on third, Bregman SS, and I hate to say it but Katz at second.

Hmmm, Katz seems more like a first baseman, a la Blake Dean.
I'd love to see Katz light up the bats like he did last year.

This guy obviously knows zero baseball. Katz can't play 2nd

Who? Harry Caray? He follows baseball a lot and is a legit poster.
Back off.
Back off.

Ok who's faster.
Mark Laird or Matt Gaudet
Joke

he can't play 3rd, either. didn't stop CPM from playing him at both positions during the fall.
But he is more capable at 2nd than Tyler Moore, Evan Powell, Chinea, Ross, and Edward. Mainieri is trying to find a way to get as many of those solid bats into the lineup as possible. Katz struggled at third, but I think with some OOC experience he could have some fun at the 4.

if laird can play CF, i dont really care if he can hit. that position was a mess last year.
and katz played some 2B in HS.

I've never heard anyone refer to positions in baseball by their number like in basketball

bitch suck dick, factsman.

No kidding. Luckily Laird looks really comfortable at the 8, and we have Sciambra back. Sciambra's injury at Auburn is what sparked the mess in center...like Katz fumbling a single on the next at-bat
Posted on 11/13/12 at 1:14 am to Harry Caray
Sciambra was the best guy defensively, but even he had his adventures. Especially coming in on balls
Posted on 11/13/12 at 1:18 am to Lester Earl
I'll blame that on freshman jitters. From what I saw in fall, Sciambra looks very determined and comfortable, especially at the plate. Hopefully that'll transfer smoothly into the outfield. And like you suggested Laird is a serious contender, hopefully will give Sciambra an extra push to excel.

it's just become easier and quicker for me
but haven't you heard announcers refer to it in plays? like "and they turn a 6-4-3 double play!"

obviously. I mean I've never heard someone say "yeah I play the 2" if they are a catcher like you'd hear a SG say in basketball

What about the McClure kid from Catholic BR.out of Panola JUCO

Can't believe yall are talkin Baseball and no one is bitching "It's Football season, ."
Ca. Ty Ross: unless Chinea displayes a rediculously big bat, and a very solid glove, this is Ross's spot to keep. I actually thought his arm was quite good his sophomore year, and his bat was not a liability either.
1B. Tough one. I'd love to see Moore get more at bats this season, and this or DH might be the only spot for that. On the other hand, you can't take Katz out of the lineup, and we have too much incoming speed to put him back in the outfield.
2B. Jones has played this spot extremely well for most of two seasons. Leave well enough alone, unless SS strugles. That said, I hope he has a better season at the plate.
3B. Toughest spot for me to call. Powell? I've never seen him play, but don't know who else to put here. Katz? Can either of them can play third?
SS. I've also never seen Bregamn play, but supposedly he is SS material. I think Jones could make the move here if he struggles, though.
LF. Rhymes. He's got to be in the lineup somewhere. Just as soon be here, or DH.
CF. Sciambra/Laird. I have not seen Laird play, but with the speed that he's supposed to have, would be a good candidate. I'd mix these two up intil one stands out.
RF. Sciambra/Laird. Moore?
DH. Chinea/MoorePowell
Just my humble picks, but I know soom of you are more knowledgeable than I am.

One problem, no mention of Stevenson. He will be in the lineup. Great Defense, Good Arm, Good Bat, and SPEED, SPEED, and more SPEED!

Like I said, some of you are more knowledgable than me. I never saw him play, or even heard a thing about him. Is he a freshman?
