Was Copeland late hit payback for something?

The penalty really hurt us badly, but I was wondering if the Copeland late hit was for something the Bama player did earlier?

Seems like Copeland is our enforcer...

Well, he needs to stop.

That one play may have cost us a Nat Champ.

who knows, but that wasn't the time for payback, a monumental mistake...

Seems like Copeland is always getting into it with opposing players...he's a bit of a head case.

Gary made a comment about that player being in his ear earlier. Not sure if accurate though.

Just a lack of focus and discipline, imo.

Regardless, I stand by my Tigers.

Even if he sees himself as LSU's "enforcer" it is clear from last night that LSU does not need such dumb and senseless penalties. His late hit did nothing to further the cause of an LSU victory, and did work to our detriment.

Payback is delivered during the course of play not after play is over. Winning is the best revenge.

he's a very frustrating player to watch. Alot of stupid penalties. He needs to get his mind right.

ETA: he's so good and reallyyyy helps the run game, but gives it all back in stupid personal fouls

On "Talkin Football", Houston Nutt said it was the play of the game. Said we probably score there and the game unfolds differently. I tend to agree.

He has rushed for 100 yards for opposing teams this year. He made an awesome run after the catch and blocks like a beast, but ruins drives.

I had earlier seen the referee get on to him for making the hand signal for first down
