I still don't know why we have Bolden on the team. I know we need depth at QB but talented depth.

Probably because the coach who should knw do not agree with your evaluation. You think?

Why are you so hung up on having a running QB when we've got a huge stable of running backs, all who have different running styles?

Why is it so important to have a mobile QB?

To get out of trouble?
To make something out of nothing?
To not be a sitting duck?
To give the defense something else to worry about?
To play 11 on 11 football?
To put another bullet in the chamber?

Just admit that bolden is more athletic than rivers and Mett.

I assume you didn't read my earlier post.

Having someone that can scramble can help you or be you worst enemy.

It doesn't matter when it comes down to it. This is our team and cheer for them.

Have faith in the coaches and the team.

Just admit that you thought Bolden was an option QB because he is black.

LSU made Jordan Jefferson an option QB when he was a pure pocket passer. IDA Flying F what people say when they think Jefferson is a better runner than Bolden. He's not. At least Bolden was rated the #2 Dual Threat QB coming out.

And yes Bolden sucked at PSU. He was the first true freshman to start there in who knows how long.. and the team was a crap hole. His sophomore season he split time on again another atrocious squad.

I don't see the harm of mixing things up like a 2007 season.. or even how Notre Dame changes it up. I truly believe in playing the hot hand.. especially if an offense goes 0-10 on 3rd downs.

So in your mind the ability to scramble is a bad thing? I feel it all depends on the QB. If Mett was lighing it up and palying great, no one would be asking the question about a mobile qb.

A talented QB gets the job done whether he is a pocket passer or a dual threat. A bad qb is terrible to have whether he ia a pocket passer or a dual threat. So saying having a scrambler can be a worse enemy really is about a bad qb. Some of the greatest QBs were scramblers, Roger Staubach, John Elway, Steve Young, Joe Montana, Cam Newton, RGIII, Tim Tebow, etc.

Haven't most of the BCS winning teams had scramblihg QBs during the BCS era?

Notable white QBs in the league with terrible run games but scrambling gets them out of situations:

Ben Roethlisberger
Aaron Rodgers
Andy Dalton
Andrew Luck

Hell ones with decent- great run games
Christian Ponder
Jake Locker
Sam Bradford

Mobility at the QB position has basically become a necessity. The times have changed and Mett is maple syrup slow. Rivers probably has decent enough wheels though.
