A running option would be Randall, not Bolden. It's a joke that you even thought that.

He's a better runner than what we have now, and presumably a more polished passer than Randall.

Uh, no.

Here's some food for thought. These are Bolden's stats from last year when he was at Penn State:

53/135 39.3% for 685 yards, 2 TDs, 7 INTs. 29 carries for 38 yards.

I'd rather not see him on the field against Bama.

Just because he didn't run often doesn't mean he can't. I'm not claiming that he's Tim tebow, but if Mett continues to be very average passing the ball why not try to add one more dimension. It worked last year in Tuscaloosa.

Mett runs a 4.58 like I hang with supermodels and OT 10s on my private jet.

So we'd put a guy out there that hardly runs and is not the best passer? Against Alabama?

The only "facts" you were going off of was that one guys is white and the other is black, therefore black guy is a runner and whitie is not.

Actually I'm glad you said that. I mistyped. His low 40 time was a 4.78. Average was a 4.87. I'm on my phone or I would link it. That's .3 seconds slower than Bolden, but Bolden isn't more athletic, okay.

I still don't know why we have Bolden on the team. I know we need depth at QB but talented depth.

Seems like you're the one not grasping the facts.

TC McCartney type guy that Miles liked and since he came from Penn St., he doesn't count against the scholarship limit, right?

I would say they are about equal. I think in a footrace between the three, Mettenberger barely wins. You obviously didn't watch Bolden at PSU if you think he can run.

I seriously doubt Mett would beat Bolden or anyone in a foot race. Bolden didn't run much at all at Penn St., but they had him down as a 4.5 - 4.6 40 coming out of high school.

I think it was just to have someone with starting college QB experience on the roster as a backup.

Mett goes down, none of the others have started a college game.

That's my guess. I really don't know. Just a guess.

Dude Mett isn't exactly lighting it up. But fine, take bolden out of the conversation. Would you put Randall in for a particular package?

The point is that the difference is negligible at best and the OP is a racist idiot for thinking that Bolden would magically be averaging 5 yards a pop running the option.
