i have read a number of posters over the last few years that have screamed and demanded for miles head and that LSU hire the head coach of....
TCU
West Virginia
Boise State
Florida State
University of South Florida
South Carolina
Petrino
in '08 the list was even longer. the fact is that when this coach was being screamed for they were having a good year. less miles is a better coach than any one of these guys and wins a lot more consistently. no flash in the pan with our coach.

I do not prefer any coach over Miles, I just wish our passing games was better.

me too (obviously). yes, he drives us all crazy sometimes. but the grass is always greener elsewhere with some people. tcu and west virginia are learning what happens when you are playing in a real conference and that conference doesn't hold a candle to the sec. i don't expect that many on here to disagree; i think they just love to bitch (altho the die-hard miles haters and sabanistas will probably chime in).

LSU should dump Miles and come after Joker Phillips - Hard! It's the only answer to their deliemma.

My pick is Washington, though I doubt we'd do better than we are. I just like that guy.

No he didn't. People haven't been calling for him to come back. I would be very upset if he ever was allowed to coach the Tigers again. He's one of my favorite coaches and I've never thought ill of him, but he had his chance.

One quit on us, the other quit on his last team. No thanks.

Only legitimate complaint.
Les Miles will recruit great athletes, play solid Defense (Chavis), and baffle the mind. An offense with some potency is all that keeps him from being the best coach "to play for" in College Football.
I exclude Nick Saban due to the pressure cooker atmosphere he creates. Saban recruits as a business prospect. "I will get your son "X" amount of dollars in the NFL. Sign Here.

hate that guy, i'd take miles over him especially now, the question is a lot closer in 2006.
