If your mortgage is with Wells Fargo...GET OUT NOW!

Wells Fargo purchased my mortgage a couple of years ago and I didn't think anything of it.
Well now I am paying the price. I don't care what you have to do but get rid of them!!!
If you have to make an insurance claim with them you are fricked. They will make it impossible for you to get your insurance money.
They have had my first insurance check for 6 weeks and I have yet to see a dime. I have jumped through every hoop Wells Fargo has asked and still nothing.
After much work to put together everything they asked for to a T Wells Fargo told me 2 days ago to call back today to get my tracking number for my check...well I was told today that the check was cancelled last night and I have to resend some contractor information before they will write another one.
So fricking frustrated with these people. YES, I AM MAD BRO.
Get rid of these frickers it will be worth your time and effort in the long run. Trust me.

I think most mortgages wind up with Wells Fargo, no matter who you go through...

I'm trying to figure out why you are filing an insurance claim with your mortgage lender, and not your homeowners insurance company.

Mortgage holder is typically deemed an additional insured on a homeowners policy, and will be an additional payee on any insurance claim proceeds.

If you have a mortgage the insurance checks must be made out to your and the mortgage company.
Wells Fargo will make your life a living hell trying to get them to endorse the checks.

Im thinking he made a claim through his insurance company and they write Wells Fargo the check and now he is trying to get the money to pay a contractor? Is that the story? Doesnt make sense.. Why would WF not want his (THEIR) house fixed?

Did you get behind on your homeowners insurance and wells fargo 'force placed' you?
ETA: Nvm, loss payee.

It is a flood insurance claim not homeowners. But regardless the checks must get endorsed by the mortgage company.

wells fargo and bank of america are the worse..but i will tell this if wells fargo got out of the mortgage industry it would be damn near impossible to get a mortgage they are a huge secondary market player.

They do. Huge banks also seemingly have black holes, where you can sometimes send them a check, never for it to be seen again.
He needs to contact the insurance company and advise of the holdup. They may have to just cancel that check and they'll reissue.

You got it.
I can't for the life of me figure out wtf is going on either, have no idea what their motive behind this is.
