are you near a wells fargo branch? if so, a banker may be able to endorse the check for you.

An AVP or higher should have the power to endorse the check. A branch manager would certainly be able to do this and possibly a banker or two in the branch.

But the OP doesn't have the check anymore.

ETA: Now that I'm thinking this through, if the check is made to a specific line of business in the bank (ie "Wells Fargo Retail Mortgage" or something like this), this might not work.

Yes. Never delinquent even once.

is the claim more than $10k?

Yes, I got 14 inches of water through the entire house for hurricane Isaac.

Tell them you will contact every consumer advocate in your area, then do it. Make them pay with bad publicity. Write a letter to the editor of every newspaper in your area. They are making your life a living hell. Might as well return the favor. Good luck.

call them and tell them your attorney will be contacting them and that you want to speak to a manager, then keep escalating it until they produce a check

as an attorney who has dealt with this process let me just say this won't do shite

Yep. I can't even get an attorney to return my call.

It's unbelievable what Wells Fargo is able to get away with. What they are doing has to be illegal in some aspect. If it isn't it needs to be.

If you have any advice from your experience with this I would appreciate it immensely.

My brother had similar problem with them.

He fronted 70K for repairs to his flooded house. it took a total of 12 months to get all his money. Had to send them receipts for all the work even though the finish product was inspected twice by there inspector.

Personally, i dont see how they get away with it. As long as you dont default on your mortgage and the house gets put back together they should not have a problem.

Is this you?

At the very least, you are not alone.

Not me.

But I just read that and I will just say that they had it easy. 8 days isn't shite. I am going ont 8 weeks.

This type of situation will be brought to the forefront soon because the balance of power has tilted waaaaay too much in the mortgage companies favor.
